Notes to Members
Thank you for joining BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (the “Scheme”). The Trustee of the Scheme is BOCIPrudential Trustee Limited (the “Trustee”). In order to let you understand the important issues to Members of the Scheme, please read the Notes
to Members as stated in the following table:
You may select to contribute a Special Voluntary Contribution at any time by submitting an
“Application for Special Voluntary Contribution” <Form ADDVC-ECS> to the Trustee. The key
benefits of Special Voluntary Contribution are as follows:
➤ Minimum contribution amount is HK$1,000 only
➤ No initial/redemption/rebalancing charges*
➤ Switch your selected investment as many times as you wish

➤ Withdraw cash for not less than HK$3,000 at any time
➤ Easy application
➤ Easy access through your MPF account

Choosing Investment Portfolio
You may choose to invest in the constituent funds by indicating your investment choice in the enrolment
form. If you do not make any investment choices or the total of the allocated percentage of your
investment choices does not equal to 100%, your contributions made and/or benefits transferred will
be 100% invested into the BOC-Prudential Stable Fund in accordance with the default fund arrangement
as stated in the member enrolment form and section 4.4 of the Principal Brochure.
You may give fund rebalancing instruction by submitting to the Trustee a “Change of Investment Fund
Instruction” <FORM EC-SM-REBALANCE> or via The HK Polytechnic University MTS Administration
Hotline/Internet/Smartphones.
Subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (General) Regulation, you may choose to transfer
your accrued benefits to one of the following accounts when you change job:
➤ a separate personal account* under the Scheme; or
➤ your new employer’s MPF account with the Trustee.
Portability of Accrued Benefits
To facilitate this transfer, you should submit “Scheme Member’s Request for Fund Transfer Form”
<FORM MPF(S)-P(M)> to the Trustee.
Alternatively, you can elect to transfer your accrued benefits to your new employer’s MPF account or
a new account with another MPF approved trustee by submitting “Scheme Member’s Request for Fund
Transfer Form” <FORM MPF(S)-P(M)> to your new trustee.
If no fund transfer request is made 3 months after the Trustee is notified of cessation of your employment,
all your accrued benefits will be transferred to a personal account* under the Scheme.
Subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes
(General) Regulation, you may withdraw all your accrued benefits under the following circumstances:
(a) Attain the normal retirement age of 65; or
(b) Early retired between 60 and 64; or
(c) Death (your personal representatives may claim for the benefits); or
(d) Permanent departure from Hong Kong; or
(e) Total incapacity; or
Withdrawal of Accrued Benefits
(f) Small balance account:
- your accrued benefits kept in the Scheme is less than HK$5,000; and
- at least 12 months have elapsed since the contribution day in respect of the latest contribution
period for which a mandatory contribution is required to be made to the Scheme or to any
other registered scheme by or in respect of you; and
- you do not intend to be employed or self-employed in the foreseeable future; and
- you do not have any accrued benefits kept in any other registered MPF scheme.
If you fulfil any one of the above criteria, you or your claimant can submit a “Claim Form For Payment
of Accrued Benefits” <FORM MPF(S)-W> together with relevant supporting document and required
statutory declaration to the Trustee.
Update of Personal Information
Submit a “Notice of Change of Scheme Member’s Particulars” <FORM SM-CHG (PART)> to the Trustee
within one month from the effective date of any changes to your personal information, such as
correspondence/email address or contact telephone number. Alternately, such information can also be
updated via Internet/Smartphones.
Tax Concession
Mandatory contribution made by a member is tax deductible. Please refer to the Inland Revenue
Ordinance for further details.
* Before the commencement of MPF Employee Choice Arrangement on 1 November 2012, “Personal Account” is known as “Preserved Account”.

The management fees will be calculated on the basis of a percentage of the net asset value per annum (“NAV per annum”) of the constituent fund and
the sub‐fund of the umbrella unit trust or approved ITCIS as the case may be. Such fee includes Trustee Fee (on constituent funds level and on Umbrella
Unit Trust and Approved ITCIS+ levels) and Investment Management Fee and is dependent of the funds chosen. Management fees will be payable monthly
in arrears and shall be accrued on each dealing day.
This is the current level. In respect of any increase in fees and charges up to the maximum level, at least three months prior notice will be given. For further
details of other fees and charges (such as fees and expenses of the custodians or sub‐custodians of the assets of the Scheme, tax, stamp duty, registration
fee, custody and nominee charges, audit and legal fees), please refer to Section 7 ‐ “Fees and Charges” of the Principal Brochure of the Scheme.
The rebate is calculated based on the yearly average net asset value (“yearly average NAV”) of the constituent funds and the rate of rebate and will
be credited annually. The yearly average NAV is calculated based on the average of the quarterly NAV. The quarterly average NAV is the average of the
beginning balance and ending balance of a quarter. The start dates of the quarters are 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October and the end dates of the
quarters are 31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December. The rebate will be paid in the form of unit allotment within 45 days of the financial
year end of the Scheme. For members who leave the Scheme during the financial year of the Scheme, the rebate will be calculated up to the date of
termination and will be paid within 45 days of the financial year end of the Scheme.
The performance of the constituent funds may not be identical to that of the relevant benchmark index. Investment in each constituent fund is essentially
subject to the same risks of its underlying index fund. The key risks to which the constituent funds are subject to include: specific risks on tracking the relevant
benchmark index, tracking error risk, sector concentration risk, geographical concentration risk, passive management risk, index calculation risk and tax risk,

For BOC-Prudential CSI HK 100 Tracker Fund, a special rebate2 at 0.2625% of yearly average NAV will be offered during the promotional period (up to 31
March 2013).
For BOC-Prudential European Index Tracking Fund and BOC-Prudential North America Index Tracking Fund, a special rebate2 at 0.3525% of yearly average
NAV will be offered during the promotional period (up to 31 March 2013). After the promotional period (starting from 1 April 2013), a standard rebate2
at 0.09% of yearly average NAV will be offered until further notice.
If the amount of income and profits from the funds of the BOC-Prudential MPF Conservative Fund in a particular month exceeds the amount of interest that
would be earned if those funds had been placed on deposit in a Hong Kong dollar savings account at the prescribed saving rate, an amount not exceeding the
excess may be deducted from the BOC-Prudential MPF Conservative Fund as administrative expenses for that month; or if in a particular month no amount is
deducted as aforesaid or the amount that is deducted is less than the actual administrative expenses for the month, the deficiency may be deducted from the
amount of any excess that may remain in any of the following 12 months after deducting the administrative expenses applicable to that following month.
“Approved ITCIS” means “index-tracking collective investment scheme approved by the MPFA”.

Adding New Constituent Fund and Updating Risk Levels for Existing Constituent Funds
With effect from 2 April 2013, the newly established constituent fund - BOC-Prudential MPF RMB & HKD Money Market Fund1 (this constituent fund is denominated in HKD only and not
in RMB) is available under the BOC-Prudential Easy-Choice Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme (“the Scheme”). This constituent fund seeks to achieve long-term total returns by
primarily investing in a portfolio of money market and debt instruments denominated in RMB and HKD. The management fee2 for this constituent fund is 0.8% of NAV per annum. Please
refer to the Principal Brochure of the Scheme for further details.

This constituent fund invests at least 50% of its net asset value in assets denominated and settled in RMB, and thus is subject to RMB currency risk. RMB is not freely convertible and
is subject to policies of exchange controls and repatriation restrictions. There is no guarantee that the RMB will not depreciate or RMB will not be subject to devaluation. Besides, this
constituent fund is also subject to risk relating to limited pool of investments, credit/insolvency risk of counterparties, liquidity risks, emerging market risk and interest rates risk, etc..

those funds had been placed on deposit in a Hong Kong dollar savings account at the prescribed savings rate (as prescribed by the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority from
time to time pursuant to section 37 of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes (General) Regulation), an amount not exceeding the excess may be deducted from BOC-Prudential MPF
RMB & HKD Money Market Fund (this constituent fund is denominated in HKD only and not in RMB) as management fees for that month; (b) if in a particular month no amount is
deducted under (a) above or the amount that is deducted is less than the actual management fees for the month, the management fees in that particular month is considered to be
waived or partially waived by the Trustee and the Investment Manager (as the case may be) and the deficiency will not be deducted from the amount of any excess that may remain in
any of the following months.

Performance of constituent funds is calculated in HKD on NAV-to-NAV basis with gross
dividend reinvested.
