In addition to sending emergency alerts to anyone with a College- provided email account, MCC has the capability of sending communications via voice mail and text messages to home, work and/or cellular telephones. The system is currently active and ready to use. In order to receive emergency text messages and voice mail alerts, you must provide emergency contact information by clicking on the WebAdvisor located on the home page of the MCC website www.mcc.edu. You can call the MCC Information Technology Services Help Desk at (810) 762-4357 if you have questions or problems with signing up to receive the emergency alerts. To Submit your contact information, following these simple steps: 1. On the home page www.mcc.edu, click on WebAdvisor, then go to the Emergency Notification Link. 2. Students login to the system with their student numbers. Faculty and staff login with their Datatel ID numbers. All MCC students, faculty and staff can receive emergency notification through the existing College voice mail and email systems. However, only those who have provided the MCC Emergency Notification System with cell phone information can be contacted via text messages. Emergency messages will be distributed by Mott Community College Public Safety Department or other authorized College staff members who typically deal with campus emergencies, with approval from college administrators serving on the executive cabinet. Students, faculty and staff will be notified by a combination of email, voice and text messages on the nature of the emergency, what action to take if necessary, and how to access further information. In addition, the Mott Community College Emergency Notification System will be tested on the second Tuesday of each semester. The MCC Emergency Notification Systems is specifically designed to enhanced campus wide communication through multiple points of contact. The Emergency Notification Systems helps MCC maintain its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the College community by taking necessary steps to broaden its reach of emergency communications.
