TMIY Paparazzi!
The photo below shows what all those men are doing at 6:15
a.m., every Saturday, besides donuts and coffee. Well over 50
men are hearing presentations and then solving world problems in small group discussion. Note that Fr. Mark struggles
with putting his badge on every week. Sadly, the Pope could
not visit while in US and sent his regrets.

Mission Awareness Weekend
October 17 & 18
A two day event to raise money for local, national and international mission efforts.
Come down to the church basement next Saturday and Sunday to support the missions!
See inside for more information.
Hi, everyone.
This past week it seems like we have been living in a
fog. There have been school delays and even cancellations. Fog slows my driving patterns and makes me more
cautious. What if the fog wasn't about just weather and was
more about how someone lived their life?
I've met people who seem to have no direction or have
lost direction in their lives; like they are in a fog. After a lifechanging event, some people feel lost. This isn't only after a
sickness or death, but also in the joy of retirement or even a
new marriage. For some, there is a feeling of "Where do I go
from here?” or even “How do I go on?” Questions of how
long does this fog last or will I ever have a clear day come to
mind. I believe that is where a good faith and a good faith
family comes in handy.
A good faith helps because we all get in a fog every now
and then. To know in our hearts that only in God is our soul
at rest, and that He is our light and our salvation, are like
headlights on the vehicle on the highway of life. Through
life-changing events or world-changing events, God is still
God. To know the God which Jesus shows us is a life-saving
remedy. Confirmation is just around the corner for our
eighth graders. Talk about a world which is uncertain; our
young people have much confusion around them. They will
be saying their “yes” to their faith in God and Church. They
trust that the Holy Spirit will guide, make strong and give
direction in their world. Perhaps we need to think back on
our Confirmation day and find a new direction in God.
This past week I got to spend a couple of days with my
brothers. We had a great time at Houston Woods, in southern
Ohio. We solved some of the world's problems, but probably
made a few, also. It is nice to have family to hear God's
voice through. A Church family is important, as each of us
goes through the fog-times of our lives. The world teaches
us that we should walk to our own beat, but our faith tells us
that we should never walk alone. I trust in God and in our
community of Church. In times when we don't know our
direction, we have people to stand by us until God's path is
known. The Church is looking at family in its synod gathering. Family is that important to guide us and to live a Christian lifestyle.
Have a great week, everyone. The fog will pass.
Fr. Mark
Year of Mercy, Time of Family
Our Catholic Church has recently been focused on family and
the upcoming year of "mercy." Like another organization,
Doctors without Borders, our Church is called to love without borders. Our Mission Fest is coming up and we would
like to focus on how we are missionaries without borders. In
the recent past, our parish has drilled a well in Tanzania, sent
school supplies and clothing to Africa, put on a roof and installed toilets in a seminary and girl's school. In Kentucky
and West Virginia, our parishes have had hands-on experience with building projects in the face of poverty. Local people have helped in the Habitat for Humanity projects and
fixed up Putnam County homes. The Youth have been involved in missionary activity with the Y.E.S. program, which
focuses on service. We are family without borders and God's
mercy holds us together. Please support this year's Mission
Fest.
