Functions of Uzbekistan Airways
Uzbekistan Airways Technics is the maintenance division of the airline
The plant is an approved maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation and is
certified by a number of the world’s airworthiness authorities
The plant provides maintenance and repair services both locally and internationally
Services include:
all scheduled maintenance of TU-154, YAK-40, AN-24, IL-76 and IL-114 aircraft
maintenance tasks up to D-check on aircraft A300/310, B757, B767, RJ-85

Admission to SkyTeam Alliance
Already done: Uzbekistan Airways held several negotiations and gave a number of
presentations as required by the admission procedure
Uzbekistan Airways received the final version of admission requirements given the
changes to the membership programme
Confidentiality agreement signed between Uzbekistan Airways and SkyTeam
Now: Uzbekistan Airways is working on enhancing its Frequently Flying Passenger
programme through cooperation with IT solutions providers SITA and Sabre
Yet to come: Execution of Global Airline Alliance Adherence Agreement (G4A)
between Uzbekistan Airways and SkyTeam

Fleet Renewal Strategy
Upgrade of the Uzbekistan Airways fleet follows two principal targets:
replacement of economically inefficient aircraft
support traffic growth on existing and new routes
Fleet plan is based on route structure development and expected traffic
during 2010-2016

Fleet Renewal Strategy – Exclusion and Conversion
AN-24 and YAK-40 regional aircraft will be replaced with locally-produced IL-114s
TU-154 and RJ-85 aircraft will be replaced by newly purchased A320-200
RJ-85 aircraft will be sold in 2011-2012
A310 will either be converted to cargo variants or sold off (decision depends on
demand for cargo transportation through Navoi hub)
IL-76 freighter fleet will remain at 9 aircraft

Cooperation with the Boeing Company
Long-term Cooperation with the Boeing Company
In addition to aircraft acquisition projects the Boeing Company provides
Uzbekistan Airways technical and flight documentation for operation of
Boeing-767s and Boeing-757s
Also the Boeing Company provides documentation related to technical
maintenance and operation of Boeing produced aircraft
Technical Staff of Uzbekistan Airways Technics are trained for providing all
types of maintenance including C-Check
While servicing aircraft of foreign airlines the Boeing Company resolves all the
technical problems related to AOG situation
Cooperation with Pratt & Whitney
Long-term cooperation with Pratt & Whitney
Pratt & Whitney overhauls all PW-2000 and PW-4000 model engines of
Boeing-757s, Boeing-767s, A310s and A300s operated by Uzbekistan Airways
In 2012-2013 Uzbekistan Airways is planning to purchase additional 4 Boeing767 aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney engines.
Technical Staff of Uzbekistan Airways Technics are trained to perform
baroscope inspection of PW 2000/4000 type engines, engine
change, performance of all AD/SB status on the engine and full maintenance of
MPD program.
Cooperation with Pratt & Whitney
Long-term cooperation with Honeywell and General
Electric
Uzbekistan Airways aircraft are equipped with avionics and APU produced by
Honeywell
Uzbekistan Airways Technics is planning to cooperate with HONEYWELL on
APU, ELT and some other components overhaul for A320 and Boeing-767300ER aircraft
General Electric will deliver four engines for Boeing-787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.
GE will perform technical training for Uzbekistan Airways Technics staff for
boroscope ispection, engine change, AD/SB status and all other works on the
engine, which is covered by MPD program
