NEWS & VIEWS FROM STEWART HARRIS
CHAIRMAN, THE OWNERS CLUBHOUSE COMMITTEE
Dear Fellow Owners
Summer means several months of sunshine, al
fresco dining and generally enjoying the many
pleasures of outdoor living.
This will of course mean a long overdue return to
dining on the Clubhouse terrace. With this in
mind, the Garden Pavilion has been constructed
since last summer on the right-hand elevated part
of the terrace. This will be joined shortly by
several toldos along the back wall of the
remaining elevated section. Together they will

AFTER DARK, AFTER DINNER, IT'S PARTY TIME
Last month Jenna McNeil started her Summer
2016 residency at the Owners Lounge. In the
early evening the dining room was packed with
Owners enjoying Joaquin’s delicious food. When
Jenna came on stage at 10.00pm a good many
moved through to the lounge, to join the many
non-diners who’d already gathered there.
Non-resident Owners shouldn't worry if Jenna’s
May dates were too early in the year for them. As
from Thursday, 9th June she will be appearing
most Tuesday and Thursday nights through to the
end of September. So, put a date in your diary,
have dinner, or a drink at the bar, and enjoy some
of the best live music La Manga Club has to offer.
After dinner, after dark, it’s party time!
It wasn’t long before Jenna’s bubbly personality,
brilliant voice and choice of songs had everyone
on their feet. The lady really does know how to
work an audience and get them in up and
dancing. So much so that the next three hours
simply flew by, as Owners danced to the live
music, re-energised themselves at the bar and
partied through to 1.00pm, in true La Manga Club
style.
As always, advance dinner reservations are
recommended for these popular nights. Please

working for both corporate and private clients.
Paco has operated in the area for over twenty
years and has an intimate understanding of the
local climate and conditions. Therefore, combined
with his extensive knowledge of plants and
design skills, Paco is able to offer tailored
solutions that not only look great, but which are
practical, low-maintenance and cost-effective.
Having invested so much care, hard work and
time in improving the rear dining terrace, so as to
make it one of the best in La Manga Club, we are
now adding the finishing touches. The borders
and plant beds are fundamental to the overall
look. So, getting them right is important and it
was essential to explore using the services of an
expert.
The Clubhouse Committee will be considering
Paco’s design submissions later this month and if
we subsequently give him the ‘green light’ to go
ahead, we hope the work will be completed in
time for the usual influx of visitors who are
expected through July and August.

STAY OVER BREAKS, RUN BY OWNERS, FOR OWNERS
Earlier this year the Clubhouse ran several wellsupported DayBreak outings to places of local

Given the success of these events, Gill Schofield

your feedback on two possible options. Both are
very different in terms of what they involve.

RESORT SALES & MANAGEMENT - NEW TERRACE
The bright people at Resort Sales and
Management recently had a very good idea,
namely to transform the small garden in front of
their offices, into an attractive, relaxed and useful
meeting
terrace.
So, they
installed
steps, stylish
decking and
awnings, and
dressed the
terrace with
beautiful furniture and plants. The result? A calm,
peaceful space that’s ideal for Resort staff to talk
with clients about their property needs in a
beautiful location, which has a very special and
relaxing atmosphere. On Thursday, 19th May, 2016 the new terrace was
launched when Resort staff invited clients and
friends to a drinks and nibbles reception. Karolina Verbeeck, Resort’s Sale Manager, said,
“Before it was a pretty, but not very useful garden.
Now it is a superb entertaining and meeting
space.” A view echoed by all those at the evening,
who agreed the terrace was an excellent addition
to Resort’s already fine facilities.

THE FINEST CAR HIRE COMPANY IN THE AREA
When Ginés Navarro founded La Manga Rent a
Car, one thing was of paramount importance. He
wanted the business to become the finest car hire
company in the area. Twenty seven years on, he
has achieved this and more.
La Manga Rent a
Car has become
the highest profile
car hire, taxi and
airport transfer
company in La
Manga Club. They
offer an
outstanding range
of cars, from the
tiny Smart For
Two, through to
luxury Mercedes-Benz Class V, 8-seat people
carriers; not to mention cabriolets and crossovers
like the Hyundai Tucson or the Volkswagen Eos.
Together with excellent personalised service, this
has made the company the premier choice for La
Manga Club visitors, owners and non-owners
alike. The majority of management companies
operating on the Resort also trust La Manga Rent
a Car with their clients’ and owners'
transportation needs.
An efficient airport transfer and taxi service is
available 24 hours a day. Small 4-seat taxis, luxury
Mercedes-Benz Class S sedans and large
Mercedes-Benz Viano and Sprinter are on call to
whomever may need them. Recent acquisitions
include two coaches, which increase the
company's ability to transfer large groups.
La Manga Rent a Car can service both private and
corporate clients. The recent MundiAvocat —the
world football championship for lawyers— trusted
the company with its transportation needs. Car
hire, taxis and coaches were all provided for the
2,200 event participants during their 10-day stay
in May. This is just one example of the company’s
capabilities and resources. Therefore, if Owners are looking to solve all their
transportation needs when they visit their
property at the resort, La Manga Rent a Car is
their first and best option.
