America in the 1950’s . . . When the other mice all fall
victim to a highly unscientific cheese cult, one
inquisitive little mouse observes the moon through
a telescope each night. Can the moon really be
made of cheese? Inspired by the pioneering work of
an old wise mouse, the little mouse decides to answer
this question once and for all. He makes a big decision:
He will be the first mouse to fly to the moon!
Our tips :
In his second big adventure about a little mouse,
Torben Kuhlmann demonstrates his full mastery,
both as an illustrator of impressive atmospheric
pictures, but also as a clever and exciting storyteller.
His loving eye for detail proves utterly persuasive.

Tony loves animals, especially cats. After a visit
to the Pet Rescue Center, his heart hurts for
the lonely animals, and he donates his collection
of cuddly toys to keep them company. Later
that night, he feels all alone. Who will comfort
him and help him sleep? Fortunately Tony’s
Mum has her own childhood friend, a cuddly cat
named Paul and the two become inseparable.
Will Tony’s dream of having a real cat to care for
and look after soon become a reality?

from The National Academy of Arts
in Sofia. She received her master
degree in Children‘s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art,

There’s no place like home when it’s time for bed!
When Bear can’t sleep, he goes on an adventure and
discovers the wonders of New York City—a parade,
Central Park, hot dogs, and more! But when he finally
gets tired and looks for a place to rest . . . he learns
why it’s called the city that never sleeps. What’s a
bear to do?
Caroline Nastro’s gentle adventure and Vanya
Nastanlieva’s engaging illustrations are sure to
comfort and delight!
Things aren’t always what they seem in this
humorous book about imagination, umbrellas,
and sharing.
Elephant is enjoying his walk in the rain until
he is interrupted by a hedgehog, a cat, a bear, and
a rabbit—each politely accusing him of having
their “boat,” “tent,” “flying machine,” and “balancing
pole” while recounting the adventures they had
with Elephant’s green “umbrella.” The imagination
of each character and the hilarious dialogue will
tickle little listeners and the ending will delight.

Pitschi
Pitschi is the smallest and sweetest of Old Lisette’s
five kittens. Pitschi is different to his brothers and
sisters; he runs away and wants to be a cockerel, then
a goat, a duck, a hare—until finally he gets a terrible
scare in the dark rabbit hutch when he has a close
encounter with the owl and the fox. Luckily, Old Lisette
finds the kitten and takes him home. The next day
Pitschi is ill—but not for long, as the kitten is spoilt
and nursed by everyone and soon he is well enough
to have a party with the other animals. Pitschi realises
that being a kitten is the best thing in the world.
“ An enchanting picture story. ”

A widow has two daughters. One is beautiful and
hard-working, the other ugly and lazy. One day
the hard-working daughter falls through a well into
another world.
Our tips :
Hansel and Gretel

There, she is forced to do the housework for old Mother
Holly, in particular to shake out her bed. For when
the feathers fly about, so it snows on earth. As a reward
for her good behaviour, the girl is showered with
gold before returning home. Now the second daughter
makes the same journey. But she is careless and
lazy, and is soon sent home again. Instead of receiving
a reward, she is showered with pitch as she leaves.
The story of Mother Holly and the two very different
girls has never lost its grip on the artist Bernadette.
So it is that, 40 years later, she has plucked up the
courage to provide new illustrations for one of her
favourite Grimm fairy tales. The results are stunning.
