FLORIDA NEW YORK BEIJIN TOURNAIRE IS A JEWELERY BRAND, holding the name of its creator, Philippe Tournaire. You’ll find out than within the apparent chaos there is actually a real sense of order. Using a superb blend of colours, symbolic styling and a keen eye for details... Combining those elements gives the brand a rare and unique personnality. We would like to share it with you. DUBAI BIOGRAPHY OF PHILIPPE TOURNAIRE CHATEAU LAFFITE CITADELLE LILO Before launching into the sculpture of precious metals, Philippe Tournaire tried to understand the world. With each trip to Paris, he spent long hours at the Musée de l’Homme, on the Place du Trocadéro. His fascination pushed him to understand how the indigenous people, the first inhabitants, were able to make objects using primitive methods (and to transform them into necklaces and other ornaments...). HOUSE SOLITAIRE THE ORIGINS OF THE ARCHITECTURAL RINGS The first architectural rings discovered come from the Merovingian age (about the VIth century AD). AN INITIATORY TRAVEL The majority of these rings were found in Gaul, in the tombs of high aristocracy women. They would have been called «ring of faith». During the XVIth and XVIIth centuries, Jewish medieval wedding rings were also found. They were decorated with a small edifice that symbolised both the couple’s new house and the destroyed Jerusalem temple. In continuing with these traditions, Philippe Tournaire proposes a custom-made creation of your «DREAM HOUSE». Today, Philippe does not hesitate to use ancestral, even archaic techniques, to create hand-sculpted jewellery, while also incorporating a zest of modernity using new technologies. This all gives the final product an incomparable result. From your drawings, pictures and ideas, Philippe Tournaire’s look and incomparable style will enable you to lightly touch your architectural dream. He is glad that he never formally learned the skill, since his allows him the opportunity to have a completly open mind. What is even more surprising is that Philippe has a diploma in electronics. For a decade or so, he worked alone in an abandoned cave that he converted into an atelier. As he modestly says, «Not having an obligation to make a profit, I was able to express myself with great liberty.» WORKSHOPS From the initial drawing to the final product, Philippe Tournaire and his collaborators accomplish each step of a jewel’s creation and finalisation. All jewels are designed and hand-made in France. Our workshops are situated near Lyon, in Montbrison, where the first shop took place 25 years ago. They mix both antique craftmanship and the most up-dated techniques. Philippe TOURNAIRE believes his objects are made to be used in everyday’s life for a very long time. French Academician Sword 2009 Love Temple is a brand new collection of Philippe Tournaire. MAIN COLLECTIONS TRILOGIE Past, present and future, the three major steps of life… By creating a ring Trilogie Alchimie, Philippe Tournaire has been willing to express the way time goes by… The past is always there, the present links past and future, future shows the elapsing time… Regarding symbols, past is represented by a square, a raw one, then it becomes the present with a triangle, which joins past and future. In the end, the culmination, the circle, everything is smooth… This collection of exceptional pieces of jewellery expresses wisdom combined to imagination, creativity. MARELIE Each piece is a composition of colours created around precious stones. Like a modern city which glimmers with a thousand lights, the shapes change from one stone to another, the towering heights dominating the other structures. TIMEPIECES ENTER THE GATES OF TIME Always guided by the connections between objects and history, Philippe Tournaire is developing his watches collection. COLLECTION 2009 EXPRESSION Like a painter whose palette is of precious stones, Philippe Tournaire puts his passion and talent to work in giving his creations the harmony that renders them rare and elegant – the stuff of dreams. The Marélie collection represents a symbolic alliance of shapes and precious stones. The diamond stands guard, protectively, over the sapphires and other gems, and its brilliance serves to accentuate the colours of the stones. The result is surprising, each and every time. The colours and shapes respond to one another, harmony bursts forth, and each piece seems unique. GATES OF TIME Architectural and historical inspiration distinguishes these watches of fine jewellery that are taking the opposite course of the present days’ watch making. “Les Portes du temps” collection is in yellow, pink, and white 18 carats’ gold (traditional casting process) and entirely one unit handmade in Tournaire’s work shop. This watch tells human history through famous civilization’s doors: The Megalithic, the Mycenaea, the Persepolis, the round door of China, the Incas’ door, and the Roman one. The 4 corners are decorated with Doric columns that give to the watch more personality and strength.
