Their address is 4506 Kenbridge Drive (27410). This will be a great opportunity for each of you to “schmooze” and learn more about your fellow Rotarians. Also, please take this opportunity to invite anyone that you would like to introduce to Rotary as a prospective member. The reception will have plenty of food and beverages. Time is from 5:30-7:30PM. Feel free to come during as little or as much of that time as you can. PLEASE RSVP IMMEDIATELY by accessing this link: http://www.empliant.com/ survey/FEECC1B95-144F-2090-6C8F/ D-Day 70th Anniversary Honor Trip Rotary District 7690 is sponsoring a D-Day Honor trip to the National D-Day Memorial (www.dday.org) in Bedford, VA for the ceremonies commemorating the 70th Anniversary of that singular event in our history. The staff at the memorial are expecting over 10,000 people at the event and we would like to identify veterans who participated in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944 and, if space allows, any veteran of World War II. Individuals who wish to participate as “Guardians” may also apply. This event is organized on the model of the extremely successful Flight of Honor program with individual Rotary clubs contributing $100 per veteran they sponsor. Identifying D-Day veterans is most important so if you are, or know of, anyone who is a D-Day veteran, please let them know about this opportunity. The application period ends on April 15 and veteran and guardian applications are available at www.ddayhonor.com. Additional information about the project can be found at www.ddayhonor.com or by contacting Jeff Sims at 336-706-0194 or jeffsims1@gmail.com. ~ ~ ~ Coming Events! ~ ~ ~ Shadow Day Thursday, March 20 To host a student for the morning at your workplace, contact Lori Haddock Greensboro Rotary Club Fellowship Day April 23 Greensboro Country Club Golf, Tennis, Silent Auction, Dinner, and Raffle District Conference May 2 – 4 Grove Park Inn and Spa, Asheville, NC Early registration ends March 15.
