Proverbs 16:3 • Web-based learning program designed to enhance the curriculum, which : o Manages and monitors diverse learners o Utilizes MAP scores to develop personalized learning paths o Meets the needs of all learners with entertaining content o Provides updates on student progress o Supports teachers with vision and feedback for success • An additional learning tool to successfully: o Bridge the gap between school and home o Utilize technology o Guide differentiated instruction o Pinpoint student needs o Partner with children to ensure growth Open the internet and type in www.thelearningodyssey.com. • Username - your child’s initials and last three digits of school ID • Password - first two letters of your child’s first and last names • School Name MARANATHA Student Odyssey Writing Tool Math Resource Tools Activity Finder • Assignments – Your child has folders assigned by a teacher or by his/her MAP results that contain learning activities or tutorials. • The various activities may be scored activities, quizzes, tests, or guided practice. Some may be quick, short activities while others may take your child more time to read passages or solve math problems. • Follow the assignments in order to guide the learning path. • A checkmark means a “completed assignment” but doesn’t always mean a good score. Be sure to check the student portfolio for scores. • You will need SOUND for all learning activities and tutorials. • Before activities/tutorials load, your child may answer multiple choice questions or play a short “loading” game. • Once the activity/tutorial loads, your child will listen to the characters explain concepts and procedures. Your child will see problems and concepts modeled. Sometimes, your child will interact with the characters by clicking and dragging or by typing numbers. – • Click the backpack icon on the upper left side of the Student Launch Pad. • Click on a tab: o Recent Work o Assignments o Reports – • Recent Work Tab – Allows you to view what assignments your child began/completed today, in the past week, and in the past month. • Assignments Tab - Allows you to view your child’s complete and incomplete assignments. • Reports Tab – Allows you to view your child’s scores and times for all assignments. • If you would like to review ANY activity, you may copy the activity number into the Activity Finder on the Launch Pad to review with your child. • Your child may benefit from using headphones during Compass Learning Odyssey sessions so he/she may focus on the activities and tutorials and ignore other noises. • Your child should have scrap paper and pencil available during Compass Learning Odyssey sessions. • Questions about Compass Learning Odyssey can be sent to your child’s classroom teacher. • Explore, have fun, and enjoy! • As a division, we will continue to: o Provide computer lab/classroom time for students to log on o Encourage students to access specific activities at home, based on strengths and weaknesses o Assign relevant homework aligned with classroom curricular content o Reinforce content with in-class Compass Learning activities o See student learning and engagement increase
