Welcome To Worship
June 5, 2016
9:00 a.m.
Third Sunday after Pentecost
*invites those who are able to stand
We invite you to use this time prior to worship in a manner that best suits you:
as an occasion for finding your spiritual focus; as a time of reading the Scripture
passages that will be used in worship this morning; as a means of acquainting
yourself more fully with the happenings at St. Paul through our projected
announcements and News and Notes; or simply as an opportunity to relax and
unwind from a stressful week. We are glad that you are here with us for worship
this morning.

from different homes and circumstances,
with different dreams, ideas, values and tastes,
being different in age and gender and appearance.
Yet, we are one family in Jesus – children of the living God.
We join our hearts in worship;
we join our voices in praise;
and we join our lives together as the body of Jesus,
committed to presenting him faithfully to the world.
*CENTERING PRAYER (responsive)
Living God, join us actively in our worship this day.
Stir in us a newness of life, that we may experience
what you are doing in the world around us.
Help us not to grow stale to the world or dim to your light,
but reflect, instead, the engaged vibrancy of Jesus
in all we do.
*RESPONSE
Be Glorified
Words and music by Bob Kilpatrick
In my life, Lord, be glorified, be glorified;
in my life, Lord, be glorified today.
In my song, Lord, be glorified, be glorified;
in my song, Lord, be glorified today.
In your church, Lord, be glorified, be glorified;
in your church, Lord, be glorified today.
*SHARING OF PEACE
Leader: The Peace of Christ be with you.
Congregation: And also with you.
(You may greet those around you in a similar fashion.)

A TIME OF COMMUNITY PRAYER
Sharing of Concerns
Pastoral Prayer
Lord’s Prayer (we pray together)
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Red Hymnal 338
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen. Amen
*Prayer of Dedication (we say together)
Holy God, we offer these gifts
as an expression of gratitude.
We pray that you will bless and multiply them.
Guide and use our lives each day, as well—
our words, our generosity, our caring—
for we would be a living offering to the world
in the name of Jesus. Amen.
*COMMUNION HYMN
All Who Hunger
BEACH SPRING
All who hunger, gather gladly; holy manna is our bread.
Come from wilderness and wandering, here, in truth, we will be fed.
You that yearn for days of fullness, all around us is our food.
Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good.
All who hunger, sing together; Jesus Christ is living bread.
Come from loneliness and longing. Here in peace we have been led.
Blest are those who from this table live their lives in gratitude.

THE INVITATION
OUR COMMON PRAYER (together)
Blessed are you, O God,
for you have brought forth bread from the earth.
Blessed are you, O God,
for you have created fruit of the vine.
Among the generations of your people
you have provided food and drink,
blessing and presence.
And here at your table again today
you offer us nourishment
for our ongoing journey.
Lord Jesus Christ,
as we do in this place
what you did in an upstairs room,
breathe your Spirit upon us
and upon this bread and wine,
that they may be heaven’s food and drink for us,
renewing, sustaining, and making us whole. Amen.
WORDS OF CONSECRATION
SHARING OF BREAD AND CUP
(Christ welcomes to the table all who seek his presence. The outer circle of cups contains
grape juice. The two inner circles contain wine. Please hold the bread and cup until all
have been served, so we may commune together.)
*PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
May the grace we have known at your table, holy God,
find its reflection in the living out of our days;
8
for we would join our song to that of Jesus
and present your kingdom to the world. Amen.

Our Search Committee held its first
official meeting on May 24.
Our Conference Minister, Shana
Johnson, led us through the process
for finding the appropriate interim
minister for our church. This, of
course, is our first task. We have completed our “Interim Ministry
Description” and information page which was sent to Pastor
Johnson. In turn, Pastor Johnson will now post this interim search
information, and we will await candidates to apply. We will be
meeting weekly in June to accomplish this important task.
Thank you for your continued support in this journey.
Celebrate your Graduate
The St. Paul Faith Family would like to celebrate
with those in our congregation who have graduated
this year from high school, college, or other
educational institutions. Let ever yone share the joy
of remembering your special day!

Due to all the reorganization / construction in the
church, we are not scheduling added activities in
the Heritage Hall, Activities Center, and kitchen
areas until further notice.
Please, also, we are asking that you hold off on
bringing your Rummage Sale items up to the
church until the new cages are built. We don’t have
storage to hold items while we are reorganizing.
Thank you for your understanding.
