NEW BIBLE STUDY IN COFFEE SHOP CLASS continues “IF…” IF is a powerful little word. Some people are stuck in “if only”, trudging through lives marked with regret. But God wants us to live lives marked with possibilities, with the “what if” attitude that looks forward to the future with confidence. Why? Because the answer to “If God is for us, who can be against us?” is “No one.” God is always on our side. Every day, in every way. 10:30-11:15am Sundays in room C122 4 weeks, until May 1 Led by Linda Lanning NEXT SUNDAY is Crosslines Collection Day! The basket is located in the foyer. Their needs are soups, peanut butter, powdered milk, macaroni, beans, rice, deodorant, and diapers (size 3 and up). “On behalf of the CMU Band I would like to offer thanks to your congregation for hosting us during our annual spring tour. We are so grateful to you for opening your sanctuary for us to perform in and for providing two wonderful meals for us. We are also grateful for your church members who opened their homes to our students for the night. Our annual spring tour is one of the highlights of our year, and being able to share it with you was a great pleasure for us. Thank you again for your warm hospitality.” Skip Vandelicht, Director of Bands Central Methodist University. Prayer List Please pray for those within our church family who are in need of prayer. There are 18 boys in the troop. This week there are 3 Cub Scouts crossing over to Boy Scouts which will increase that number. The Boy Scouts have different kinds of activities for the boys. They camp out about once a month (in all kinds of weather). In May there is a canoe trip on the Buffalo River. In June there is a Summer Camp. Then in July, 6 boys and 2 adults are going to Sea Base which is a Boy Scout camp in Florida. Please focus your prayers this week on the leaders and the boys of this Troop. Jack Williams Job 3:11-16 11 “Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb? 12 Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed? 13 For now I would be lying down in peace; I would be asleep and at rest 14 with kings and rulers of the earth, who built for themselves places now lying in ruins, 15 with princes who had gold, who filled their houses with silver. 16 Or why was I not hidden away in the ground like a stillborn child, like an infant who never saw the light of day? Job 3:20-23 20 “Why is light given to those in misery, and life to the bitter of soul, 21 to those who long for death that does not come, who search for it more than for hidden treasure, 22 who are filled with gladness and rejoice when they reach the grave? 23 Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in?
