We held our first Exeter Cathedral Concert on behalf of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity in 2013.
Many of you kindly supported us on that occasion. We are repeating it this year to coincide
with the 2nd Centenary of the Battle of Waterloo. The programme will be one which I am
sure everyone will greatly enjoy: Tamsin Waley-Cohen will be with us again, as will Exeter’s
own Choir and Orchestra. David Davies will again be playing the magnificent organ, and
we will have two Soprano Soloists to sing for us, Alison Burnett and Davina Hastings.
Most of our soldiers are now, thankfully, home from Afghanistan. But great pressure
remains on us to provide help and support for the families of our fallen soldiers, as well
as to those men and women whose wounds will effect them for the remainder of their
lives. Many of them require assistance to find suitable employment, provision of special
equipment in their homes and general help and support at any time. Our work is never
finished and our expenditure increases year by year.
This is why we hope you will join us at our Waterloo Concert. I know you will enjoy this very
special evening. So please fill in the application form to be with us on this momentous occasion.
Hamish Monro,
Producer.
