Listen carefully and you will be drawn into the stories yourself. Peter reports the good works Jesus did, his death on the cross, and his resurrection. The passage from John’s Gospel has us running to the empty tomb with Peter and John and peering inside to see the cloths used to cover Jesus’ body. Psalm 118 sums up our response: “It is wonderful in our eyes!” What resurrection details do we see in our lives today? How have we died to our old lives and been raised up again with Jesus? Let us pay attention to the new life around us. It is wonderful in our eyes. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. Jubilee Year of Mercy “Let us accept the grace of Christ’s Resurrection! Let us be renewed by God’s mercy, let us be loved by Jesus, let us enable the power of his love to transform our lives too; and let us become agents of this mercy, channels through which God can water the earth, protect all creation, and make justice and peace flourish. ~Pope Francis Taken from “Crossing the Threshold of Mercy” page 122 MASS INTENTIONS Tues. 03/29 8:00 am Wed. 03/30 8:00 am Thurs. 03/31 8:00 am Friday 04/01 8:00 am Sat. 04/02 4:30 pm Sun. 04/03 8:30 am 10:30 am Rev. Mission: The St. Genevieve Parish Pastoral Council is responsible for the pastoral vision & ministry of the parish. The Parish Pastoral Council shall act as an advisory body to the Pastor, to assist him with specific tasks in establishing his goals for the parish, and to support the Pastor in his role as shepherd. The Pastor, as the representative of the Archbishop, has ultimate decision-making powers in all parish matters. Responsibilities: Provide guidance in establishing the pastoral vision and goals. Have a passion for our faith community and a strong desire to support the Pastor in his vision for a vibrant faith-filled parish family Be reliable to attend monthly meetings, follow through on tasks, give good counsel, and promote the mission of the parish so that all might live out their baptismal call. Willingness to work in team setting, maintain confidentiality, share ideas, and serve on special projects & subcommittees. Since the council is advisory to the Pastor, conversation is collaborative and recommendations are developed through consensus. Votes are not usually taken by the Pastoral Council. Work collaboratively with fellow council members and parish committees to meet the parish’s goals and priorities. Establish new committees as necessary or requested, and help provide parish groups with guidance in contributing to the established vision and goals. Review agendas, minutes from committees, and provide input on topics prior to council meetings. Meetings: 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7-9 pm at Parish Office, 10 meetings per year Are you being called to use your gifts to promote the goals and visions of our mission? (Selection process information in next week’s bulletin ) How To Get More Out of Mass Leave Mass with a mission. In the quiet time after communion, think about how God has spoken to you this day. What is God calling you to do? How will you be more like Christ this week? Try not to leave until you’ve committed to at least one small, concrete way to live the mass. -**Watch for more suggestions in upcoming bulletins. March 27th, 2016_____________ WELCOME VISITORS We are happy to welcome you to St. Genevieve’s for our Easter celebration. Whether you are joining us for Mass for the first time or are a returning friend or family member, we are delighted to have you with us. If you feel a special connection to St. Genevieve’s, we’d like to let you know about our Park and Pray project. We are raising funds to build a new parking lot with 50-60 new parking spots at the south entrance to the Parish Community Center. In addition, we’re hoping to raise enough money to build an overhead canopy to provide a drop-off point for icy and rainy weather and to reduce the walking distance and risk of falling for our seniors and those with disabilities. So far, we’ve raised over $170,000 toward our $300,000 goal. We would be grateful if you would consider participating in this project. Architects’ renderings of the proposed parking are on display in the gathering area or you can learn more about this project online at www.stgens.org. You can also donate while online (click on the donate icon on top of the page) or use the yellow envelopes at the building entrances and drop in the collection basket, or send in a contribution to the parish office. Thank you and we hope to see you again! St. Gen’s Parking Lot FAQs Q-Who will be able to park in the new parking lot area? A-The new parking lot is being added to meet the needs of the seniors and people with disabilities. The drop off area (with canopy) is being added to provide a better more comfortable place to drop off seniors, people with disabilities, and parish members who would prefer a closer drop off point and protection from rain and snow. The drop off area can also be used by any parish member to pick up or drop off supplies. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT POSITION St. Genevieve Church is seeking an Administrative Assistant.
