The mill is suitable to be used in grain p r o c e s s i n gi n d u s t r y f o r p u l v e r i z i n g o f i n t e r m e d i a t e a n d s m a 1 ls i z e g r a i n s , s u c h a s w h e a ta n d r i c e w i t h w a t e r c o n t e n t t h a t m e e t n a t i o n a l s t a n d a r d s . T h e m i 1 1 h a s following features: 1.1 It can pulverize various grains with high efficiency and high speed. Thenpour out the foreign object in the cup and lightly rotate it several times leftwards and rightwards after replacing it back to prevent leakage. 4.8 Install the transparent feed hopper into feeding head (10) and press it s o u n d l y . T o t a l l y o p e na d j u s t m e n tp l a t e ( Z ) o f s t a i n l e s s s t e e l t h r o t t l e v a l v e . 4.9 Press the green start button (B) on lower left side. The current capacity of powersupply socket should be equal to or greater than 10 A. 5.2 Before putting samplegrains into feed hopper, it should be confirmedthat -Aa t h e r e i s n o s m a l l m e t a l p i e c e s o r o t h e r h a r d o b j e c t w i t h i n t h e s a m p l eg r a i n s . 5 . 3 T h e h a m m e rt y p e w h i r l w i n d m i 1 1 s h o u l d b e p l a c e d o n c l e a n , d r y , w e l l v e n t i l a t i n g , l e v e l , a n d s o u n ds t a n d t o e n s u r e n o r m a l r u n n i n g o f t h e e q u i p m e n t . 5.4 After connecting to power supply, the start button should be pressedonly after having adjusted the throttle valve on feeding head to the maximum p o s i t i o n . A f t e r n o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e w h i r l w i n d m i 1 1 , p o u r t h e s a m p l eg r a i n into feed hopperand then adjust the throttle v a l v e t o l e t t h e s a m p l eg r a i n gradually enter into mi11 cylinder. The entering speedof grain should not b e t o o f a s t , t o a v o i d t h e b l o c k i n g ' .o p e r a t i o n . 5 . 5 A f t e r h a v i n g p u l v e r i z e d t h e s a m p l eg r a i n , l e t t h e m i 1 1 o p e r a t e w i t h t i m e d e l a y e d f o r 4 0 t o 6 0 s e c o n d st o c l e a n t h e m i 1 l c y l i n d e r a u t o m a t i c a l l y , a n d then press the red stop button to stop the mill. 'sample grain for each time is 200 to 300 g. 5.6 The quantity of pulverized 5 . 7 T h e f e e d s p e e dc o u l d b e a d j u s t e d b y t h e a d j u s t m e n t p l a t e o f t h r o t t l e v a l v e on the feeding head. The feed speeddependson water content within the sample grain. The greater the water content in the sample grain is, the slower the feed speed should be. For 300 g of wheat grain with standard water content, the normai pulverizing time is about 90 seconds. If there is abnormal sound from the motor, it meansthe feed speed is too high. 5 . 8 F o r s a m p l eg r a i n w i t h h i g h w a t e r c o n t e n t , t h e f e e d s p e e ds h o u l d b e v e r y l o w . 0therwise, the dough would be burnt due to high temperature within mill cylinder. If this phenomena has happened,the mill cylinder and whole powder discharge duct should be cleaned immediately. 5.9 If an automatic feeding device is used, the feed quantity of sample grain c o u l d b e a d j u s t e d b y t h e s p e e dr e g u l a t o r , s o t h a t t h e n e c e s s i t y o f c o n t r o l l i n g feed quantity of samplegrain by meansof manualadjustment of throttle could be totally 5. l0 After finishing valve excluded. pulverizing of sample grain, the upper part of collector must be beaten several times with a small woodstick. Then take out the sample grain cup and screening and weighing as required. 5.11 If falling n u m b e ro r t h e i n d e x i n r e l a t i o n t o w a t e r c o n t e n t i s m e a s u r e d , the weight measuredby meansof scale must be corrected to that at the standard water content. -5- [hirlwind 6. Description of Circumstances where the Hammer Mi11 is not Applicable 6 . I T h e h a m m e try p e w h i r l w i n d m i l i i s n o t s u i t a b l e t o b e a p p l i e d t o p u l v e r i z e s a m p l eg r a i n s w i t h h i g h w a t e r c o n t e n t , h i g h v i s c o s i t y , h i g h o i 1 c o n t e n t a n d high ce1lulose. 0therwise, not only the pulverizing effect would be not and evenmotor s a t i s f a c t o r y , b u t a l s o t h e m a c h i n ew o u l d p o s s i b l y b e d a m a g e d could be burnt out. 6 . 2 A s i n g l e p h a s ec a p a c i t o r s t a r t e d m o t o r i s u s e d o n t h e h a m m etry p e w h i r l w i n d mill and its output poweris 750 W. It cannot be used to start with load and for long time ful1 load running. 0therwise, the temperaturewithin mi11 c y l i n d e r w o u l d r i s e r a p i d l y , o r t h e m o t o r w o u l d b e d a m a g eddu e t o o v e r l o a d i n g . 6 . 3 T h e h a m m e tr y p e w h i r l w i n d m i 1 1 i s n o t a p p l i c a b l e t o p u l v e r i z e t h e s a m p l e g r a i n s w i t h h i g h h a r d n e s s , l a r g e s i z e o r i r r e g u l a r f o r m . I f s u c h s a m p l eg r a i n s must be pulverized with the whirlwind mi11, they should be first processed by preliminary pulverizing and then pulverized by the whirlwind mi11. of HammerWhirlwindMill 7. TroubleShootingof CommonFailures,Serviceand Maintenance 7.1 Cleaning If abnormal sound or low powder output efficiency (powderoutput lasts for long time) is heard or observedduring the application process, it meansthat the machine should be stopped for cleaning. The cleaning should be done as f o l l o w in g : 1) Disconnect power supply and take away the sample cup. Loosen the fix screw (12) on the connecting sleeve (13) of discharge pipe, and then turn the collector 90 degree forward. Wipe and clean internal chamberof collector; 2) Removethe collector and poke and stir the discharge duct with a smal1 stick; 3) Removefilter bag and clean it; 4) Adjust proper tension of driving belt as described in section 7.4; 5) If the whirlwind mi1l is continuously used for a long period, it should be cleaned everyday. 7 . 2 R e p l a c e m e not f S c r e e n i n g P l a t e 1) Disconnect power supply and open the front cover (6) of mill d e s c r i b e di n s e c t i o n 4 . 4 : 2) Unscrewboth M4 nuts (5) on left cylinder as and right of external side on fix pressing plates of the screening plate; 3) Loosenboth M4 screws on left and right from inner side with a screw driver; 4) Pul1 out original screening plate and insert new screening plate; 5) The procedureof locking up pressing plate is just opposite to the steps mentioned above for removing. -6- 7 . 3 R e p l a c e m e not f M i 1 1 H a m m e r I f t h e m i 1 1 h a m m e irs w o r n o u t s e r i o u s l y o r d e f o r m e du n d e r t h e e f f e c t o f a force, it should be replaced according to following procedure: b 1 ) B u y a n e w m i l l h a m m e br y m a i l ; 2) Disconnectpower supply and open the front cover (6) of mill cylinder as d e s c r i b e di n s e c t i o n 4 . 4 ; 3 ) T h e n p u 1 1 a n d h o l d o u t e r s i d e o f b l a d e s o f m i 1 l h a m m ew r ith left hand and u n s c r e wM 1 6s t a i n l e s s s t e e l h e x a g o nn u t o n t h e c e n t e r s h a f t c o u n t e r c l o c k w i s e with rieht hand; 4) Remove the nut and mounta newmi11 hammer,then fasten as described in section 4.4; 5) Whenmounting the newmill hammer,it is prohibited to beat on newmill hammer. 0therwise, it could result in deformation of mill h a m m e ra n d e f f e c t t h e q u a li t y . 7 . 4 L o c k i n g u p a n d R e p l a c e m e not f D r i v i n g B e l t A f t e r I o n g t e r m o p e r a t i o n o f h a m m etry p e w h i r l w i n d m i 1 1 , t h e d r i v i n g b e l t woulddeflnitely elongate and be worn out, resulting in slipping of belt or low w o r k i n g e f f i c i e n c y . A t t h i s t i m e , i t i s n e c e s s a r yt o a d j u s t b e l t t e n s i o n o r t o replace the driving belt as following: 1 ) D i s c o n n e c tp o w e r s u p p l y a n d u n s c r e w6 M 5 s c r e w s o n t h e b a c k s e a l i n g p l a t e , r e m o v et h e b a c k s e a l i n g p l a t e ; 2) Adjust both upper and lower nuts of bolts fixing the motor to makethe driving belt tensionedtishtly; 3 ) l { h e nr e p l a c i n g d r i v i n g b e l t , f i r s t u n s c r e wb o l t s f i x i n g m o t o r a n d l i f t the m o t o r o n o n e s i d e . R e p l a c et h e d r i v i n g b e l t b e t w e e nt h e p u 1 1 e yo f m o t o r a n d spindle of mill cylinder, and then re-tension the new belt. 4) Mount the back sealing plate. 7.5 Start failure 1) Disconnect power supply; 2) Tip the whole machine 90 degree from front backwards: 3) Remove4 M5 screws on cover of electric box on base surface. and remove the contactors of heat relay from the cover; 4) Press the reset switch of heat protector; 5) Mountthe cover of electric box in procedure opposite to that steps mentioned above and start again. 7.6 Tripping of internal heat protector within motor due to overheating of the motor -7- Wait for some time and restart the motor after i t i s c o o l e d d o w n . 7.7 Burning out of Motor due to 0verloading Removethe motor and send it to the Companyfor repair. 8.
