Wainwright Post #1111 Chartered May 2, 2000 January 2016 Newsletter Published for members and those who support AMVETS The Christmas Dinner and Membership Drive was a great success with four new member candidates recognized, great food, a strong sense of comradery, a showing of appreciation and recognition of special achievement. There is no cost to members or the scouts just let me know your coming so we can prepare enough of our AMVETS “Best of the Best” Spaghetti! Hope to see you there! Flags will be put up throughout downtown on New Years Day and MLK Day January 18th. Next regular business meeting will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016. 1st Vice Commander Report Membership = 122 members in good standing. Wreaths Across America The Post is now supporting Wreath’s across America, http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org, Last year 200 were placed on Veteran Graves. This year over 300 were placed locally. Individuals can sponsor Wreaths to be placed for $15.00. Please consider sponsoring a Wreath to be placed on a Veterans Grave. Upon request you can take possession of the wreath you sponsored and place it on a specific Veteran grave of your choice. Contact Larry Cunnington, (509) 520 5372, for more information or to purchase your sponsorship. Wreaths will be placed locally at the Mountain View Cemetery at 9:00AM on December 10th 2016. The Honour Project has completed flights for this season having flown 71 Veterans in 2015, the most of any year to date. Now is time to consider supporting this program for 2016! If you served as an American citizen in the armed forces of an allied nation, under honorable conditions, between Sept. 15, 1940 and May 8, 1975, you are also eligible, as are wartime members of the Merchant Marine.
