Saturday, 25 January
15.00 – 18.00 Preview Next by Modefabriek during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam as part of the 10 Days
Downtown programme. Get acquainted with the up-and-coming designer labels Vonschwanenflugelpupke, Rick Lee,
Odeur, Leyre Valiente, Toos Franken, First of August, Melissa Siegrist and PCL. Location: ‘Westerliefde’ on the grounds
of the Westergasfabriek. Admission for the public: €5.00. Free of charge for invitees.
The eight selected labels will be presented at Modefabriek on the Next platform in Hall 1.

11.50 Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen will be the first speaker during the
official press meeting in the VIP and Press room at Modefabriek. As a special guest of Modefabriek and the MINT
sustainability platform, she will talk about her efforts towards creating a more sustainable clothing industry.
12.15 - 12.45 Robert Thiemann, Director of Frame Publishers and Editor-in-Chief of Frame Magazine (architecture,
interior design, art), will be sharing his inspiration for both the brick-and-mortar shop and offline shopping of tomorrow.

11.00-13.00 Do Lecture ‘Human-Centred Fashion – A Future Conversation’
Twenty fashion professionals discuss the personal relationship between people and fashion: does a world in which
people are the focus of fashion lead to more honest business, new markets and a deeper and more loyal bond with
happier customers?
14.00-16.00 Do Lecture ‘The Future of Neighbourhood Shopping’
Twenty students and fashion professionals discuss the ideal shopping street under the direction of David Shah (trend
forecaster and owner of View Publications). More and more unique local and artisanal shops are clustering in creative
hubs. What values are important to the consumer of tomorrow? What can traditional retail learn from these new
concepts? (in English)

11.00-13.00 Do Lecture ‘Human-Centred Fashion – A Future Conversation’ (see Sunday programme)
14.00-16.00 Talking Tables ‘The Future of Retail & Fashion’
Under the direction of Bregje Lampe (fashion journalist and fashion editor at de Volkskrant), prominent professionals
engage in a dialogue with one another and the audience on new visions of retail. Participants will include Willa
Stoutenbeek (owner of W. Green), Hans Ubbink (fashion designer), David Shah (trend forecaster and owner of
View Publications) and initiator Judith ter Haar (intuitive forecaster and owner of Jones Arnhem). Judith ter Haar will
also be launching the magazine ‘The Retail Roadmap’, a study into the future of experience concepts within retail
commissioned by CLICK NL | NEXT FASHION.

15.00 – 16.00 ‘Future prospects and trends’ by Lieke Lamb, trend watcher and strategic consultant.
The year 2014 is the year of ‘DDD’: Durf, Duurzaam and Delen (Daring, Durability and Sharing). This is what Lieke and
Richard Lamb from the TrendWatcher agency predict. The coming period will be characterised by a ‘new realism’.
What does this mean for retailers? How can small business professionals also profit from the latest (technological)
developments? How can they hitch the new trendsetters and online influencers to their wagon and what does Buy on
the Fly entail?
16.00 – 17.00 ‘From single channel to multi-channel’ by Chantal Poiesz, eCommerce specialist.
Chantal Poiesz has 15 years of experience in establishing and further developing eCommerce within multi-channel
environments. Together with her consultancy firm What’s your Challenge, she supports companies with their eBusiness
and multi-channel issues with a strategy, workshops, projects and implementations. Chantal is also the co-founder and
owner of Your Style Lab. An online styling and personal shopping platform.

15.00 – 16.00 ‘Introduction to brand identity and storytelling’ by No Office, design, concept and brand identity studio.
In the current market where competition is fierce, the need to stand out as a retailer or brand is vital, particularly in the
fashion world. During this workshop, we share a few examples of projects and discuss the following: We are all familiar
with the term ‘identity’, but what does it mean exactly? What is a strategy and why do you need one? What is the role
of design?
