A checklist of all must-sees: Next by Modefabriek Saturday, 25 January 15.00 – 18.00 Preview Next by Modefabriek during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam as part of the 10 Days Downtown programme. Get acquainted with the up-and-coming designer labels Vonschwanenflugelpupke, Rick Lee, Odeur, Leyre Valiente, Toos Franken, First of August, Melissa Siegrist and PCL. Location: ‘Westerliefde’ on the grounds of the Westergasfabriek. Admission for the public: €5.00. Free of charge for invitees. Monday, 27 January 11.50 Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen will be the first speaker during the official press meeting in the VIP and Press room at Modefabriek. As a special guest of Modefabriek and the MINT sustainability platform, she will talk about her efforts towards creating a more sustainable clothing industry. 12.15 - 12.45 Robert Thiemann, Director of Frame Publishers and Editor-in-Chief of Frame Magazine (architecture, interior design, art), will be sharing his inspiration for both the brick-and-mortar shop and offline shopping of tomorrow. A list of all interactive learning sessions in the ‘We Room’: Sunday, 26 January 11.00-13.00 Do Lecture ‘Human-Centred Fashion – A Future Conversation’ Twenty fashion professionals discuss the personal relationship between people and fashion: does a world in which people are the focus of fashion lead to more honest business, new markets and a deeper and more loyal bond with happier customers? 14.00-16.00 Do Lecture ‘The Future of Neighbourhood Shopping’ Twenty students and fashion professionals discuss the ideal shopping street under the direction of David Shah (trend forecaster and owner of View Publications). More and more unique local and artisanal shops are clustering in creative hubs. What values are important to the consumer of tomorrow? What can traditional retail learn from these new concepts? Chantal Poiesz has 15 years of experience in establishing and further developing eCommerce within multi-channel environments. Together with her consultancy firm What’s your Challenge, she supports companies with their eBusiness and multi-channel issues with a strategy, workshops, projects and implementations.
