Another long winter is just about over! We can’t wait to open the pool, kick off Spring/Summer programming and prepare the parks for outdoor activities. Inside the 2015 Spring / Summer Activity Guide you will find returning programs like Day Camp and Swim Lessons are back, as well as some newer programs like Silver Shooter Bocce and Pickleball for Older Adults. We’re also offering an excellent line-up of excursions this year. You will notice some new programs such as our Pre-Day Camp for Mayfield Height residents who register for session A. The pre-camp will be 6/10 - 6/12. There is limited availability for this new program. See page 5 for more information. Be sure to mark your calendars to join us at City Park 6/26-6/28 for our annual Unity Days Festival and parade. Held right in the heart of our community, this event offers something for everyone in your family and circle of friends. As always we will have our spectacular fireworks show on Saturday night and the annual parade on Sunday. New this year, we are adding the Mayfield Run for Life 5K, which will take place just before the parade steps off. Please see page16 for details. Work Out (and more) at Wildcat Sport & Fitness located on the south east corner of Mayfield High School, continues to attract residents in search of activities and exercise offerings. While we continue to plan, coordinate and schedule new classes and programs, we are also working tirelessly to improve this incredible community asset for the residents of our school district. If you haven’t visited yet, please stop by to take a tour. We hope you find something in our Activity Guide that moves you to sign up for a class, visit Wildcat Sport & Fitness or just get involved with all your community has to offer. We look forward to seeing you at the pool, park or Wildcat Sport & Fitness. As always, please call the Recreation Department at 440-442-2627, if you have any questions, comments or concerns. We welcome your feedback. I hope to see you in the park, along with much better weather, very soon!
