COLD WEATHER REMINDER
As colder weather approaches, we
want to remind you that your child will
be going outside for recess. We hold
recess inside only if the weather is below 0 or it’s raining. Warm coats,
hats, mittens, etc., are a must as the
weather turns colder. The school social worker, Mary Walsh, has hats, mittens, coats, etc. that have been donated to the school. Please contact her at

school supplies or winter wear. She
will be happy to help you and your
child.
Don’t forget to get your 5th & 6th grade all color memory book. Get your
order in by March 15th in to svandyke@minnewaska.k12.mn.us. Cost is
$15.00.

Please check the Minnewaska Area Schools’ web page

weather announcements such as early closings, late
starts, and cancelled programs or events.
In the event of a school closing, families will be
notified by phone, text or email by “School Reach”.
School Reach is a broadcast service used by
Minnewaska Area Schools to communicate with
families. If there is a specific phone number you
would like us to call, please contact the Principal’s
office with that information. You may also listen to

Parents/Guardians
Even if school is in session, parents are asked to assess
their particular situation and determine whether or
not it is safe for their child(ren) to attend school on a
particular day. Children absent in inclement weather,
when school is held, will be marked absent and treated
the same as in any other legitimate absence. The
school however, must receive proper parental notice.
Please plan with your child what you will do in a
school closing emergency.
