Believing Achieving Succeeding - Minnewaska Area Public Schools
Important Notes For the Trip To Andes Tower Hills Feb. 5th

Please listen to KMGK radio FM 107.1 for cancellation.

Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for spending the
entire day outside on the slopes. Hats, mittens, and snow pants are a
must. Scarves are not recommended because they can get caught in the
chair lift. Goggles and neck warmers are great to have along, as well as
chapstick. There are no extras when we get there so it is important to be
prepared.

Please take time to talk to your child about how much fun the day will be.
All students will go through a skills test with Andes instructional staff before they can hit the slopes. Students go their own pace and it is important that they all at least try.

If students choose not to ski, tube or snowboard they will go with their
class and stay in the chalet to read, play games etc. Students who choose
to stay home will be counted as absent for the day.

If a student plans to stay at Andes and not take the bus back to school,
they will need a parent permission slip and must be supervised by their
parent or another adult.

Students can either go downhill skiing or tubing. Experienced snowboarders with their own equipment can choose to snowboard.

their particular situation and determine whether or not
it is safe for their child(ren) to attend school on a
particular day. Children absent in inclement weather,
when school is held, will be marked absent and treated
the same as in any other legitimate absence. The school
however, must receive proper parental notice.
