the
HIGHLAND IMPROVEMENT TEAM! Several
Lowe’s employees and their family members
volunteered at Saturday’s Highland Improvement

paid off, as we were able to complete this large
cleanup project all in one morning. Also helping
the HIT Team on Saturday was a brand new
volunteer! Everyone did a fantastic job…Thank
you all!

Library News
Adult craft turns shoe boxes into
treasure boxes! Give new life to old shoe boxes
by turning them into a handy container for all
those little trinkets you collect. The Highland
Environmental Education Coalition (HEEC) and
the Highland Environmental Learning Center are
pleased to present Creative Crafts for Adults,
“Shoe Box, Treasure Box” on Saturday,
September 04, 2010 at 10:00 am in the
Children’s Program Room. Patrons are
encouraged to bring their own shoe
box
with
lid (attached or
unattached) and learn how to
transform that old shoe box into a
fancy new re-usable treasure chest.
Great for gifts or storing candles, jewelry,
scrap booking supplies and much more!
For more information, please contact Lauren
Bergh at the Highland Sam J. Racadio Library
