Girls and boys ages 5 to 10 and of all skill levels can still sign up for the season, which runs through November. Sergeant David Kauahi has been in the PAL Unit for seven years. During that time, he has seen the positive impact of PAL. “The PAL is one of the few units in the Honolulu Police Department that practices proactive law enforcement. This is a very valuable tool for the future of our communities,” said Kauahi. “Studies have proven that those involved in sports and other activities are less likely to conduct criminal activity, more likely to be socially adjusted, and have better academic progress.” For more information on the program and how to sign up, please contact Officer Robert Fetter at rfetter@honolulu.gov.
