FISHING
WEEKEND
FEB. 13-14
All fishing license fees will
be waived for two days.
Residents and out-of-state
visitors may enjoy fishing on
both inland and Great Lakes
waters for all species of fish.
All fishing regulations will still apply.
ICE FISHING SAFETY TIPS
4No ice is safe ice! Ice thickness varies across a lake. Avoid areas where there is
flow (feeder streams and springs) or in-water obstructions (bridge pilings, docks,
and dam structures), since ice is usually thinner around these objects.
4Always fish with a partner or in an area where several other anglers are present.
4Let others know exactly where you are going and when you plan to return.
4Place a cell phone in a plastic bag to protect it from moisture in case you get wet.
4Always take along a throw cushion or wear a personal flotation device in case
of immersion.

snowmobile operators. Kids between the ages of 12
and 17 who plan to ride without an adult or across
a main road must have completed a safety course.
Visit the DNR website to see the many options for
snowmobile safety courses, both in person and
