for clients. The 24+ Loan has enabled Mathew to access this course and boost his career prospects.
“If I didn't have the loan I wouldn't have been able to do the course as, after paying rent and factoring in
general living costs, I didn't really have the spare cash to pay for it. The process was smooth and easy; once
the initial paperwork was done it was just a case of waiting a few weeks for confirmation! I think the fact that
I am working towards a Level 3 qualification has helped me to land the fitness class cover role, as the extra
knowledge it provides has given me the edge over applicants with just a Level 2.”

Guidance
The Government has introduced
this scheme to enable those aged
24 or over to apply for a loan
to cover course fees. If you’re
planning to study at Level 3 and
above, you may qualify for a 24+
Advanced Learning Loan.
Tuition Fee
If you complete an Access to
HE Course and progress to an
HE degree and complete the full
qualification you will have the 24+
Advanced Learning Loan written
off.
Free, impartial advice and
guidance about courses, careers,
and job-search techniques is
available from our Guidance
Team. Please contact 01872
265800.
This MUST be paid at the time
of enrolment. See below if you
think you are eligible for FREE
TUITION.
Free Tuition
The tuition fee for some courses
is waived (unless otherwise
stated) if you fall into any of the
categories below:
• Unemployed JSA/ESA (Work
Activity Group)
• Unemployed on other state
benefit
• Adult Basic Skills (English/
Maths)
• 19 - 23 without full Level 2/3
• 16 and under 19 years old at
31 August 2015
You will be asked to provide
evidence at the start of the
programme to support your claim
for waived tuition.
24+ Advanced Learning
Loan
Are you aged 24 or over and
thinking about Further Education?
You may be eligible for an
advanced learning loan which
you only pay back when you’re
earning over £21,000. The loan is
not means tested and there are
no fees to pay up front.
For those aged 16 to 23 we may
be able to support you in other
ways. For further information
about loans contact 01872
265800.
Initial Materials Fee
Where possible the initial
materials fee has been shown.
These are payable even if you
receive free tuition. ALL students
will be required to provide their
own books and materials.
Student Printing
A small print allowance is
available to students. Top-up
vouchers for print are available to
purchase from Resource Centres
and the College Shop.
Refunds
A full refund will only be made if
a class does not start or closes
after one session. After a course
has started, pro-rata refunds
can only be made if you are ill
(medical certificate required) and
all refund requests must be made
in writing to the Principal.
Exams Information
For the majority of qualification
courses, any fees payable
to the Awarding Body for
registration, examination entry
and certification, will be collected
together with the course fee
payable before the start of the
course. Where this is not the
case, the additional payment
due will be stated in the course
description in the Part-time
Courses brochure. If you are
enrolled on a qualification course,
then provided all fees have been
paid you will automatically be
registered with the awarding body
and entered for any examinations
as appropriate.
If you need to re-take any
examinations in which you are
unsuccessful, you will need to
enter for these separately and
make a re-entry payment to
the examinations office. You
will receive written advance
notification of the arrangements
for formal examinations and
written confirmation of your
results. Certificates will be posted
recorded delivery to the address
as given on your enrolment form,
so please do ensure that any
change in your contact details is
notified to the Part-time courses
team. Any questions about
registration, examinations or
certification should be directed to
the Exams Office 01872 267106
for Truro based students or
01736 335127 for Penwith based
students. The email contact for
