Agenda
TIP OF THE MONTH
This is a tip from
Nic Damuck
Keep a baby food jar
1/2 full of laquer
thinner handy. When
you use a rattle can
paint spray, remove
the nozzle when you
are done and put it in
the jar. You will
never have a clogged
nozzle again!
CA Nozzles
Keep a T-Pin half way
in the nozzle of your
CA bottle. When you
are ready to use it,
twist the pin and push
it all the way in prior
to removing it.
Keep CA in the
Fridge for long life.

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT HOOK UP WITH ONE OF THESE MEN AND GET TRAINED. ANY CLUB
PILOT CAN TRAIN YOU, BUT AN INSTRUCTOR MUST SIGN YOU OFF TO FLY SOLO.
Sept 24-26 - Remember, we will need support and help for the Aero-Tow event so make
your intentions known, come and fly your glider self powered or not. It is a high
undertaking to put on an event like this. Len & Steve travel all over the country
supporting other clubs events establishing contacts and friendships. This way, out of area
and out of state fliers will reciprocate. Let’s help to make this the best North East Glider
event possible.
The same is needed for the Oct 3rd Pylon Racing. These events require at least 16
members to provide judging, timing and crowd control to make this event successful and
fun for all whether they be a participant, a spectator or an official.
October 9th. This will be the second year we have been asked to participate in the Groton
Fall Fair. We will have static displays and flying displays of Helicopters and Fixed wing
electric aircraft. Currently Bob Wales, Dennis Duplice and Fred Meyer will be flying
models at this event and many Borderline flier members will bring static displays & a
couple will fly. The flying area is a football field with trees on three sides and the fair on
the other so flying requires some skill. If you are interested in flying at this event let
Dennis or me know. This is an AMA sanctioned event (Demo) with insurance for the town
included, so we are doing this formally & correctly. The location is Groton Plains Park on
Rt 1 East of the intersection of Rt 117 & Rt 1.
The Rhode Island Aeromodelers are holding their fall fun fly at their field off I-95, exit 6
on September 25th. I have attached a brochure for this event. If you are interested please
download the brochure. There will be prizes raffles and lots of flying.

Committees
Fence Committee – Fence is installed. It looks real nice.
AeroTow – Sept 24, 25 and 26; Lenny has everything all set up.
Pylon Race – Oct 3 Sanction is in. We’ll need at least 16 or more people to help out. You don’t need to
be there the whole day; just a few hours would help.
Old Business:
We need to do something about the roof of the trailer to prevent leaks this winter. There were several
suggestions, like Build a pitched roof, spread a rubber type sealant, or cover with a tarp and in a couple of years
purchase a new one.
Bernie built the new tables for the pits. We will eventually get them covered with carpet. Bernie also
repaired the old picnic tables so they won’t tip over. He also built a new family style picnic table. Thanks
Bernie.
Dennis built the Pilot Stations out of PVC and Netting.
Dennis has asked Everett to make a new stop sign for by the field. He will email Everett what he wants
it to say.
New Business
Motion was made to start the Aerotow at 9:00 am. It was seconded and passed.
A motion was made to start the Pylon race at 9:00 am also. It was seconded and passed.
Tom suggested that with so many people with 2.4ghz radios that we attach our badges to the radios or
ourselves, and if you use 72mhz you should use the Pin board. He will make a motion in the future for a field
rule change. to our bylaws.
Good and Welfare
Bill read a card the club received from jacks family thanking us for our support.
Reminder; pickup after yourselves, butts, trash etc.
Dennis wants to have a Labor Day Potluck. Fred will send out an Email later.
