NATHANIEL’S HOPE 10TH ANNUAL MAKE ‘M SMILE FESTIVAL
Highlights from our Fun day!
Our “BIG 10” Anniversary hosted our BIGGEST AND MOST SMILES EVER! Over
15,000 people were in attendance, including nearly 1,800 kids with special needs
... our VIP’s! 10 years ago, at our first Make ‘m Smile festival, we had around 650
people in attendance! That means we have GROWN OVER 2200% IN 10 YEARS!
»» OVER 7,500 REGISTERED TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR FRIENDSHIP BUDDY STROLL, where VIP kids and
their families were “buddied up” with individuals and families from the community for a “Friendship Stroll”
around Lake Eola while enjoying lots of FREE fun family activities, entertainment and food!
»» Z88.3’s Morning Show Team Ellis, Tyler and Tracy hosted the concerts at the Amphitheater with CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN RECORDING ARTISTS HEATHER WILLIAMS AND CAROLYN GOAD PANKALLA!
»» VIP kids from our community brought amazing entertainment to our stage.
»» Our crowds enjoyed 4,000 Chick-fil-A sandwiches, 3,000 hot dogs, popcorn and cotton candy, 25,000 bottles of
Publix water, Frito-Lay Chips, Over 4,500 A&W Rootbeer floats, thousand of Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts,
birthday cake from Costco, Flippers Pizza and more ... all for FREE!
»» PARTICIPANTS ENJOYED 6 NEW ENTERTAINMENT ZONES including: “Fun Zone” by Walgreens, “Animal
Land” by Leland Management, “Health and Sports Zone” by Florida Hospital, “Wet Zone” anchored by Westgate Resorts, Buddy Break Game Zone and the Party Place!
»» 90+ Resources that serve the special needs community were on display to assist VIP families!
»» 30+ characters including Sea World’s Shamu, Cookie Monster and Elmo, Universal’s Dora the Explorer, Scooby
Doo, and a herd of Chick-Fil-A cows were present to entertain everyone!
»» BAG’s provided FREE VALET PARKING FOR VIP FAMILIES.
»» 30+ families of VIP kids who have passed on to heaven participated in our ANNUAL HALL OF HOPE
BUTTERFLY RELEASE.
»» Special guests included WFTV Channel 9’s Eboni Deon and Glen “Big Baby” Davis from the Orlando Magic,
along with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and former Orange County Mayor Richard Crotty who have been participating with Make ‘m Smile for the last 10 years!!
»» A proclamation was issued by the City of Orlando proclaiming June 2nd as MAKE ‘M SMILE DAY in Orlando!
