Annual Sports Meet 2014
The Annual Sports Meet of Al
Saad Indian School, Al Ain, was
held on the 13th November, 2014,
at the School Indoor ground in a
frolicsome
atmosphere.
The
event was marked by a string of
spectacular performances presented by the little champs of
Grades 1 through 5 who were
brimming with enthusiasm and
sportsmanship. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the
presence of the guest of Honour,
Ms. Norah Rashid – The School
Development Officer from ADEC
and The Principal Mrs. Saroja
Sahadevan.
The ceremony got underway with the
assembling of athletes on the ground
and then, there was an excellent drill
display done by the students holding
pompoms of UAE coloured flag. The
March Past led by the School Captain
Shaan Shanavas exhibited discipline
and co-ordination. The flag was hoisted
by Ms. Norah Rashid and The Principal.
The school leader, Parv administered
the solemn oath to the participants. The
Olympic torch run was indeed a marvelous sight to behold. After the school
captain Shaan welcomed the gathering,
Ms. Norah Rashid spoke befittingly motivating us to march ahead with hope.
The Principal officially declared
the sports meet open and released a lever to a big ball
hanging above which exploded
with vibrant colours symbolizing the talents of the sporting
students! The long awaited
athletics events were held
which included track events
and other innovative events
like cricket ball throw, biting
the bun etc. The young athletes participated enthusiastically in all of them. The prizes
were given away by the Principal.
Jupiter house bagged the overall
championship with 58 points followed by Athana House at 44
points. Pluto and Venus were close
behind with 41 and 40 points respectively. The Individual Champions were Krishnatheerth of Grade
4 and Devika Anil of Grade 3.
The Principal declared the sports
meet closed and lowered the flag to
pass it on to the Physical Education
teacher Mr. Vinod. The event came
to an end successfully with the
Vote of thanks leaving thrilling
memories in the hearts of everyone
present there.

Teacher
I love teaching French to kids! But more than that ,I love
the idea of getting up in the morning and coming to my
school because I know I can definitely make an impact
through my teachings and actions on the life of a student
thus empowering a generation! I believe it’s the teacher's
job to sculpt tomorrow’s future so I feel blessed being a
part of a school that would let me live my passion!

KINDERLAND’S 1ST CHILDRENS DAY PROGRAM

On 16th November
2014, KG celebrated
Children’s day at
school. The event
started with a speech
by our dear principal
ma’am Mrs. Saroja
Sahadevan,
telling
them about the importance of Children’s day. We had a
special guest @ Bhavan’s “Chacha Nehru
ji”. Tanishq from KG
2 acted as “Chacha
Nehru ji”. Then our
little kiddos gave a
dance performance,
on the song “Lakdi ki
kathi,
kathi
pe
ghoda”. Next, Sana
from KG 2 had a chat
time with Chacha
Nehru ji. Last but not
the least, the little
kiddos performed an
action song “Bacha
maan ka sacha”. The
event got over with a
melodious song by
our music teacher
“Mr. Sethunath” dedicated to children on
this beautiful occa-
UAE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS
Just as the nation celebrated
its 43rd year, The Al Saad
Indian School, Al Ain unitedly fêted its very first National
Day with students and parents.
If you happened to be at the
Al Bateen area on the 30th
November, you couldn’t
have missed the joyous music, singing and dancing that
took place at the school
premises. What with the
boys doing a peppy dance
number which gave a new
meaning to the usual “stick
dance” and the girls sashaying to the Emirati tune that
kept the spectators spellbound. The KG kids sang
their hearts out about the 7
emirates of UAE.
Then it was time to go
“Emirates hopping” visiting
each grade that had 6 or
more stalls depicting the
important features, food,
occupation, flora and fauna,
attire and monuments of
that
Emirate.
Ras
Al
Khaimah turned out to be
every one’s favorite.
The classroom was akin to
a miniature town with models of forts, museums,
roundabouts, tiny cars and
pond filled with toy fishes
which really took to everyone’s fancy! Sharjah had
delicious Biryani to offer to
the visitors.
Abu Dhabi had picture perfect models while Ajman
featured agriculture in desert. Fujairah welcomed
visitors with typical Arabic
sweets
known
as
“Luquaimat” and had a face
painting stall too. Dubai
looked modern and radiant
with decorations and models of skyscrapers. Umm Al
Qwain had a Henna Stall
and a Flamingo destination.
After our action-packed day,
the students, parents and
teachers alike felt much richer learning about UAE and
the happenings of this great
nation.
It may have been our first
mega event for this year, it’s
safe to say that it won’t be.
our last. We are sure to
come out much better and
much grander next time.

CLUB INAUGRATION AT BHAVANS
On the 10th December,
2014 Al Saad Indian School
officially inaugurated the
various clubs it has to offer
the students of varying talents.
The school currently has 7
clubs:
Science and Nature , Literary and Dramatics, Health
and Wellness, Reading,
Heritage, Mathematics, Visual and Performing Arts
The inauguration started with
a prayer song followed by welcome speech and the hoisting
of Bhavan’s flag by The Principal. The Bhavan’s anthem was
sung by the school choir. The
Principal addressed the gathering and there was a brief introduction to clubs and its
functioning by the teachers.
The much coveted “President”
and “Secretary” badges were
presented to the students by
The Principal of the School.
Each club had wonderful
presentations in line for everyone to enjoy. We had reading
sessions in English, French,
Arabic and Hindi.
The Heritage club conducted a
quiz in Arabic about UAE. Science club did interesting experiments and Math club presented
rotation and revolution on the
earth through a short skit. Literary and dramatics acted out a
play while Visual and performing
arts club showcased paintings
and a dance form portraying
contrasting moods through music. The best performer would be
given badges on Thursday, the
18th December during the Christmas celebrations. It was creatively done and well enjoyed by
the students.
