Breeding Arabian horses is a labour of love, a work in progress!
The beautiful Farm Natalshoop, home of Aucamp Arabian Stud, is situated near Lydenburg in
Mpumalanga. Richard Aucamp calls this: “Heaven on Earth for our family and our horses.”
Breeding Arabian horses is a passion for Richard and Henrihet Aucamp, together with their
children Casper, Danie, Danelle and Isabella.
Aucamp Arabians is also the home of Supreme National Champion Stallion, *MH Ahsom (USA)
who has to date been passing all his good qualities to his offspring. At this year’s auction you
have the opportunity to purchase an Ahsom filly that you will not get elsewhere in South Africa.

As a young girl, Francisca Strydom was intrigued and
fascinated by horses, an interest amplified when she received
an Arabian as a gift from her parents. While still at school,
she took her first steps towards breeding Arabian horses and
soon afterwards registered her own Arabian Stud.
Francisca has proved herself to be an extraordinary horsewoman, with international titles in the show ring and on the
endurance track for which she earned National colors in 2005. She
was victorious in the grueling Africa Endurance Championship
in Namibia, a champion in halter at the prestigious Scottsdale
Show in the USA, top three in Western Pleasure in Brazil while
she has accumulated several National titles in a variety of
disciplines: Western, Country Pleasure, English Pleasure, Hunter
and in Halter showing.

It is the expressed goal of the Strydom Stud to produce
purebred Arabians of international standard, and the quality
of their stallions and broodmare band certainly illustrate their
commitment.

The Stud has enjoyed much success since its inception,
producing and showing many International, National
and Provincial Champions. A number of horses have
also been exported to Europe and the Middle East.
FS Magnum’s Madonna (Magnum Psyche x *Tai Bey
Brittney (USA)) won the coveted All Nations Cup Junior
Female Championship and progressed to a class-win
at the World Championships in Paris.
The Strydom Stud has consigned a number of
exceptional individuals to the Arabian Stars Prestige

The incredible rate at which the standard of South
African Arabian performance classes have improved
over the last few years, bears testimony to the
immense impact Victrio Training has made in the
show ring since their inception.
As a family business, the success of their clients
could be in no small way contributed to the efforts,
committment and talent of the father-son combination of Leon and Victor Botha, ably supported
by wife and mom, Ina. Leon’s lifelong experience has
evolved into training methods focused on maximizing
the best assets and talent of the Arabian horse, while
Victor has become a familiar sight traveling down
the rail on yet another victory pass with roses draped
across an ecstatic client’s horse.

Their unrivaled success in the show ring is the result
of their dedication to excellence and uncompromising, sheer hard work. Although their knowledge span a
wide variety of disciplines, they specialize in performance (saddle-seat), western pleasure, traditional riding
classes (open and novice) and driving classes. They
also participate in showing halter (in-hand) classes.
They currently have purebred Arabian horses, Friesians
and American Saddlers in their training program.
Victrio Training has become known for their
professionalism, attention to detail and dedication
to ever-improving standards, which coupled with
their vast international experience and extraordinary

Bernard Groenewald
Piet du Toit
Bernard Groenewald joined his father, Lukas
Groenewald, as the spearhead of LBG in 2002 and
under his astute guidance soon took over the company
reigns.
After much deliberation and continued analysis,
Bernard identified the wildlife industry as a key
component in property development and the vital role
wildlife could play in generating and increasing the
value of their farms. He purchased their first Golden
Wildebeest Bull just over seven years ago and has
never looked back. Since then, Bernard was allowed to
live his childhood dream of becoming an established
game farmer.
The formidable Castle de Wildt where the first Golden
Breeders auction was held on 7 July 2012, was
Bernard’s brainchild and was designed as symbol
of his belief of the game industry and the growth
therein. Castle de Wildt also hosts numerous
community and charity events throughout the year,
including carols by candlelight and song and worship
evenings on the last Sunday of each month.
What started off as a dream has transpired into a
resounding success story for this dynamic 35-year old
family man who, with his supportive wife Anerien,
are the parents of two beautiful daughters.

Piet du Toit is a thriving businessman and game
breeding pioneer, being on the forefront of the
current explosion of interest in rare game species. He
has become renowned for his relentless pursuit of
the absolute top genetics in such species as Buffalo,
Sable, Roan, Golden Wildebeest, Black Impala and
quite recently, Njala.
Trained as a teacher, he utilized a highly successful
transition to the world of mining and commerce as
a launch pad to become one of Southern Africa’s
foremost game breeders.
His firm and outspoken belief that “the ultimate
animal only comes along once” has resulted in his
acquisition of some of the wildlife industry’s most
prized specimens.
In addition to an extensive game farming operation,
Piet also has a substantial Bonsmara stud in South
Africa and Namibia, as well as an extensive Dorper
sheep herd. He shares an Arabian horse stud with
his wife Vivia and their three children, Adene, Zanie
and Pieter.

Jannie de Beer
Jannie de Beer became a National Hero when
he kicked a world record five drop goals in the
Springboks match against England at the 1999 Rugby
World Cup in Paris.
The match remained close until De Beer took control
in the second half, slotting his five drop goals to clinch
a 44-21 victory and, ultimately, his place among the
legends of Springbok rugby. He also set a South
African record of 34 points in a single test.
“I have not seen a better kicking display in my whole
life” said former Springbok captain Francois Pienaar.
“Jannie was awesome. I’ve never seen anything like it
and I don’t think we will for a long, long time.”
After the game the modest and deeply religious De
Beer commented: “I don’t want to take too much
credit for the win, it was a team effort. The Lord gave
me the talent and the forwards gave me the ball”.
Married to Vicky, they are the devoted parents of
Kristin and Divan.
Cindy Reich (USA)
Cindy Reich grew up on her parents’ Arabian horse
farm in Colorado, USA. She began showing at the
age of 6 and showed in nearly every division over a
period spanning more than 30 years.
After graduation from Colorado State University
Cindy worked as a breeding manager and equine
reproductive technician for major Arabian breeding
farms in both the USA and Europe for 35 years.
Some of the Arabian stallions she worked with
included *Aladdinn, *Eukaliptus, *Menes, Tornado,
*Marsianin, Bey El Bey, Huckleberry Bey, Bay Abi,
*Nilo and many others.
Cindy has had her USEF and AHA Arabian judge’s
card for 36 years and has judged National shows
in the USA, Australia, Brazil, Canada, South Africa,
Sweden, Uruguay and Venezuela. She is also a
journalist, having published articles in many Arabian
publications world-wide, most notably, her monthly
“Stud Farm Diaries” in the Arabian Horse World
magazine.

Kurt & Dunay Darren
Kurt and Dunay Darren are avid supporters and
dedicated ambassadors of the Arabian horse
breed in South Africa. Their filly, FS Mignonette
(*San Joaquin V (USA) x *HCE Magdonna
(ARG)) has recently added the title of Gauteng
Supreme Champion Mare to her impressive list
of achievements.
Their fondness of the Arabian horse is enhanced
by the bond it symbolizes as they became
involved in the breed shortly after their wedding.
They have attended many horse shows and
open days, while they also enjoy a joyride to the
farm to spend time with their horses whenever
their busy schedules allow for it.
Kurt’s video of the hit song he especially wrote
for Dunay, “Standing at the edge”, was filmed
with Arabian horses. His memorable rendition
of his chart-topping single “Kaptein”, live and
impromptu, at last year’s Prestige Auction Preview, was one of the highlights of the event.

Southern Africa lost one of its most significant sires of all time
when *Baywatch V++ (USA) sadly passed away earlier this year.
A champion himself and an international sire of champions,
*Baywatch V++ (USA) was a legend in his own lifetime. With
National Championships in Canada, the USA and South Africa
to his credit he has proved his mettle in the show ring while
he has also sired International Champions in halter and ridden
classes as well as endurance.
The *Baywatch V++ (USA) get is stamped with his
exceptional size, substance, structure, balance and athleticism
along with the aristocratic presence which his pedigree is
known for.
Amongst his most famous offspring count the 2011
Tevis Cup winner, Riverwatch as well as the SA National
Champions *Dana Sashay (USA) and *Dana Centurion (USA).
Alhoewel *Baywatch V++ (VSA) hoogs suksesvol was in sy
skouloopbaan, met Multi-Nasionale titels in halter en ryklasse, het

Purchasers who pay the full purchase price on auction day will qualify for a 5% discount. Facilities for electronic transfer
will be available on site on the day of the auction.
Monthly payment option
Any Purchaser may elect to avail himself of the payment terms option on the following conditions:
1. A minimum deposit of 15% of the purchase price is payable on date of the auction. Facilities for electronic transfer
will be available on site on the day of the auction.
2. The Purchaser will have the opportunity to specify the term required for payment of the outstanding balance, which
has to be done in equal monthly payments over a period of no more than 24 months.
3. No interest will be payable on the outstanding balance.
4. Horses purchased on payment terms must be insured for, at least, the full outstanding amount and for the entire
remaining payment period.
5. The Purchaser will be responsible for payment of the insurance premium (monthly or annually) directly to the
insurance company. Brokers will be available on auction day to assist Purchasers with insurance needs.
6. Insurance premiums normally amount to 5% of the insured value per year.
7. All prices are VAT exclusive. VAT(of 14%) will be added to the purchase price.

Insuring your horse

Purchasers availing themselves of the Easy Payment Option will be responsible for insuring the
horse for the duration of the repayment term.
Purchasers should go to the Equipagé Insurance table inside the clubhouse directly after the
auction to complete and sign the necessary insurance documents.
Cover will commence at the fall of the hammer.
Insurance premiums will be payable directly to Equipagé - either as an annual payment or on a
monthly debit order.
Veterinary costs will be for the account of the Purchaser.
The policy will be endorsed with the interests of the seller noted until such time that the horse has
been paid in full.
Where the purchase price is paid in full, the purchaser shall be entitled to choose whether or not he
wishes to take up insurance.

Kopers wat van die Maklike Betaalopsie gebruik maak, moet die perd vir die duur van die afbetaaltydperk
verseker.
Kopers moet direk na die veiling Equipagé Versekering in die klubhuis besoek om die nodige
dokumentasie te voltooi en teken.
Dekking sal by toeslaan van die bod begin.
Versekeringspremies is direk aan Equipagé betaalbaar – óf as ‘n jaarlikse premie óf as maandelikse
debietorder.
Veeartskoste is vir die Koper se rekening.
Die polis sal in belang van die Verkoper ge-endosseer word totdat die perd ten volle vereffen is.
Indien die koopprys ten volle betaal word, het die Koper die opsie om versekering uit te neem al dan nie.
