With the
market place
becoming increasingly aware of the need for
employee protection when working
at heights, RIS is ideally positioned to
provide local and overseas industries with
practical solutions for any height safety, confined
space or rope access applications. RIS designs, manufactures and distributes an extensive range of tested
and standards compliant range of products, including

systems, fall arrest retractable blocks (inertia reels), tripods and
winches for confined space, as well as having its own range of
Standards approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
RIS also have a comprehensive engineering workshop
and are able to design solutions and construct complex
structures to address height safety access issues. We are
therefore able to offer our clients a product and service portfolio
that will satisfy our industry’s stringent hierarchy of control, we
truly are a solutions provider.
Our internal management capabilities and national
infrastructure allow us to effectively manage large scale
projects with major clients such as: • Melbourne Cricket
Ground • Adelaide International Airport • NSW Department of Commerce (TAFE) • Integral Energy • Adelaide
Oval • Dreamworld • Fiona Stanley Hospital • Adelaide

Mackay and Darwin, and with a wide national and international distribution network, we pride ourselves on the most
practical, cost effective and compliant fall protection, confined
space or rope access systems in Australia and overseas.
The Hierarchy of Control
and our Product Range
For each building structure or access issue, hazard identi
fication should be completed to determine the potential for risk
of injury, with solutions being determined within a four level
hierarchy of control.
Substitution
MEDIUM
Isolation
LOW
Fall Protection
Based on this assessment, RIS are able to offer a solution
tailored to your needs.
The RIS Strategy
Controls
At RIS, our actions are clearly defined;
Elimination
• We will only promote and manufacture compliant products,
equipment and services to meet the ever increasing demands
of the marketplace.
• We endeavour to act as a credible solutions provider
to industry and not merely as a distributor of products.
• We maintain strong relationships with our local and international suppliers to ensure that we offer the latest in height safety
technology and products available.
• An ongoing commitment to staff training ensures that our role
as solution providers is maintained throughout our business.
• When appropriate, our national branch network is utilised
to consistently and dependably service the needs of our national
client base. We call this our National Concept and find this
is the approach preferred by organisations with multiple sites
wishing to maintain a common safety strategy.
Elimination
HIGH
Products
Identified during our site audit process RIS would,
where possible, recommend the elimination of the
height safety risk through redesign.
Substitution
Also identified through our site audit process, if the
elimination of risk through redesign is not possible,
RIS would recommend the substitution of components, processes or systems.
Isolation
If substitution is not possible RIS would recommend
the isolation of worker risk through the use of
permanent edge protection systems (walkways and
guardrails).
Fall Protection If the risk cannot be isolated, RIS would then
recommend the use of fall protection equipment
(anchor points, harnesses, lanyards, vertical and
horizontal systems).
Walkway and Handrail Systems
RIS Aluminium and Fibreglass Walkway Systems provide safe access to roof top
plant and equipment. The RIS walkway is, lightweight yet incredibly strong
and virtually maintenance free walkway system which provides an easy

The RIS specialized Fabrication team will design and fabricate whatever
the requirement to make sure that your site is compliant.
Interclamp Non-Welded Handrail System
Interclamp is a versatile high quality malleable iron pipe fitting with multiple uses.
Designed for easy, simple and fast erection of rigid structures by hand with minimum tools
required. Interclamp is a cost effective, efficient system, particularly compared with traditional
methods of construction such as welding where specific tools and extensive training is required.
Typical installations for Interclamp is:
• Cycle Racks/Trolley Bays • Playground Equipment
• Staircase Handrails • Wheelchair Access Ramps
• Railway Guardrailing • Mezzanine Floors/Platforms.
Temporary Edge Protection
RIS manufactures a comprehensive range of temporary commercial edge protection systems to suit any
application such as C&Z purlin, parapet wall, concrete slab, balconies, etc. These systems are easy
to install and very user friendly, and provide the highest level of safety for the workplace. All of the
RIS edge protection systems have been tested and comply with Australian standards requirements.
Safetruck System
RIS has been working with the transport industry to develop a safety system to be
used on curtain-sided trucks (tautliner) to provide protection during the loading and
unloading of trucks. The patented Safetruck safety system comprises of a specially
designed rail system that is attached to the roof extrusion of the truck. This unique
and world first design allows a simultaneous bilateral movement of the system which
is directly related to the location and movement of the person using the system. This
ensures that the Safetruck safety system does not interfere with the loading and unloading
of the truck while providing the highest level of safety.
Permanently
Installed Fall
Arrest Systems
RIS designs, manufactures and installs their own
range of fully compliant horizontal and vertical fall arrest
systems in stainless steel cable, stainless steel or galvanized
rail sections and structural aluminium extrusions. RIS are therefore
well positioned to offer our clients a complete height safety solutions service.
When worker safety and productivity is a priority our highly qualified design team will
work exclusively on the design of a safety solution to meet your individual requirements.
The stages of the Safety Solution Process are as follows:
Risk Assessment and Site Survey > Computer Simulation > Systems Selection >
Design Service > Installation > Training > Annual Service and Re-Certification
