Today`s Learners = Tomorrow`s Leaders “Shine On”
PRINCIPAL’S WEEKLY LETTER: FROM: March 18, 2015 Mrs. Mendoza Today’s Learners = Tomorrow’s Leaders “Shine On” Dear Families, Thank you to the twenty-six Kindergarten through 6th grade mothers who attended our Muffins for Moms event last Friday morning. Katie Stephens, from enVision Math was our presenter. Katie walked us through SuccessNet, our online portal where parents can access math textbooks, activities, games, videos, tests and assignments. It’s amazing to see the resources available to help support our children at home. For those unable to attend, I’ve attached the three handouts distributed at the event to this letter. Please take a moment to look over these documents and explore SuccessNet if you haven’t done so already. If you do not have your child’s login information, please email his/her classroom teacher. Mrs. Harrington also has access to this information. A big thank you to Mrs. Harrington for helping to plan this event and to the Burien Plaza Starbucks for donating the coffee! We are in the midst of planning our Donuts for Dads event that will occur late April/early May. More information is forthcoming. As we end the second trimester tomorrow, I would like to remind families to continuously access the Powerschool Parent Portal to monitor student grades and academic performance. In this day in age, information is at our fingertips, accessible 24 hours a day. This accessibility should eliminate the possibility of surprising situations. We hope that you stay informed of your child’s performance by accessing this wonderful resource. Report cards will be sent home Thursday, April 2nd. This Friday there is no school due to an Archdiocesan directed Teacher In-Service Day. All of our teachers will be in the building looking and disaggregating student data, reviewing unit plans and academic intervention plans. All this work will aid us in differentiating our instruction to better meet the needs of all our learners! I hope to see everyone at this Saturday’s Italian Dinner. Today is the last day to RSVP. Please stop by the office if you are in need of a reservation form. You are sure to have great fun! Thank you for supporting the St. Bernadette Athletics Program!
