Our Anti-Microbial cleaning products are designed for areas that require very
high standards of cleanliness and where being able to show ‘due diligence’ in the
control of biological and physical contamination is of paramount importance.
All cleaning tools in this range contain a uniquely created silver-ion based
anti-microbial additive. This additive effectively inhibits the growth of molds,
mildew and bacteria.
• Prevention of over 99% of bacterial contamination, including MRSA and E-Coli
• All components comprehensively approved for food

• Anti-Microbial properties are not affected by time,
cleaning chemicals or abrasion

Our Resin-Set DRS® brushware boasts a revolutionary improvement in brush
filament retention, known as the ‘Dual Retention System (DRS)’. This unique
approach uses both food-grade stainless steel staples and an anti-microbial resin
to secure the tufts into the brush back. This not only prevents the accumulation of
dirt and moisture in the tuft areas, but also the release of filaments into the food
or beverage processing environment.
• ‘Dual Retention System’ (Resin-Set DRS®), minimizes filament loss
• Anti-microbial resin inhibits the growth of molds, mildews and bacteria
• Available in up to nine colors to assist with work area segregation
and HACCP compliance
• Working temperature range: -18°C/0°F to 79°C/175°F
• All products may be autoclaved in temperatures up
to 135°C/275°F
• Independent migration tests show all plastics
used are well within FDA/CFIA/EU limits.

minimize the risk of contamination. All metal detectable products have been
produced using metal detectable and x-rayable components, which have been
independently tested by Mettler-Toledo Ltd, a leading manufacturer of metal

principles of HACCP color coding and the 5S system.
Color Coding Explained
• The use of color coded cleaning tools within the food industry can assist greatly in reducing the risk of cross contamination and with the implementation of HACCP
• A methodical color coded approach associates each product with a particular area, promoting inter-departmental and / or food-type segregation
• The majority of our hygiene and food safety product lines are color coded, with up to nine vibrant, easily identifiable colors to choose from.
HACCP Explained
Developed by the US Department of Agriculture, the Hazard
Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) initiative was
created to assist food processors and food service companies
in eliminating food safety hazards by identifying Critical Control

It is essential to maintain your hygienic tools to prolong their use and
also to recognize when they need replacing.
Procedures for cleaning hygienic tools

Remove all visible dirt and any foreign objects. Use a Salmon Hygiene Technology brush with stiff filaments to do so
Clean the tool in a cleaning solution with a pH between 7.0-12.2. Alternatively clean in an industrial dishwasher (82°C/180°F)

If lime residues are formed on the tool after washing and use, these can be removed by washing in a cleaning solution with a pH
between 7.0-12.2. Use a Salmon Hygiene Technology brush with stiff filaments to do so or clean in an industrial dishwasher (82°C/180°F)
If required, tools can be disinfected after washing with an approved disinfectant. Salmon Hygiene Technology products tolerate all approved disinfectants
Rinse with clean water to ensure the removal of any disinfectant residues on the tool before using it again for cleaning
If required, most Salmon Hygiene Technology products can be sterilized by autoclaving. Many products can be autoclaved at
temperatures up to 135°C/275°F. Please check product details in this catalogue or contact your distributor
Place the tool to dry on a Salmon Hygiene Technology wall hanging system (see page 46).
Recognizing when tools need replacing
1. When filaments are so entangled that particles can adhere
to them
2. When filaments are discolored
3. When the brush back or plastic molding is scratched or badly marked
4. When the handle is broken or bent
5. When the filaments are worn excessively
6. When your system specifies that the tool must be replaced after a suitable period or if there may be a risk to food hygiene.
Brush storage
Store your brushes and cleaning equipment away from surfaces on
a color coded wall bracket (see page 46), where they can be stored
safely and securely and will last longer. Hanging up cleaning tools also
promotes swift air drying and reduces scope for bacterial growth.
Items missing from the wall bracket at the end of the shift will be
readily identifiable.
