Relationships First: Restorative Justice in Education
Is it for us/me?
Are you a professional or parent working or living with children and youth who are troubled by the
interpersonal conflict? Do you sense a lack of community and disconnect with and among our youth?
Are you looking for an approach that will nurture positive, connected relationships instead of
perpetuate adversarial and punitive interactions? Are you working in an institution and wondering if
Relationships First might support the work you are doing?
If so, then join us for a one-day professional development session introducing the fundamental
principles and practices of restorative justice
By the end of this session you will have …
• Explored core values necessary for nurturing healthy relationships;
• Some understanding of relational restorative justice in education;
• Experienced a few aspects of Relationships First-Restorative Justice Education (RF-RJE);
• Practiced facilitating check-in circles;
• A beginning answer to “Is RF-RJE for us/me?”
• Ideas for next steps.
This session is introductory in nature and is provided for individuals wishing to increase their general
