six months prior to the date.
Rite of Christian Initiation (R.C.I.A.)- Interested in becoming a Catholic? Need to

Ministry to the Sick
If anyone is confined to home and unable to come to Mass, please call the Rectory
to arrange to have the sacraments brought. If you foresee hospitalization, please call

At the annual Mass & Investiture of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of
Jerusalem - Eastern Lieutenancy of the U.S., Lady Judy DeAngelis was promoted in rank to
the Rank of Commander with Star.
This honor recognizes the many acts of charity and service done by Judy both for
the parish and church, in particular the charitable works in the Holy Land sponsored and
supported by the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
We join in celebration of this honor of promotion to Lady, Commander with Star.

THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR
Will be visiting our Parish this weekend, November 7th & 8th. Many of you know the
Little Sisters of the Poor in their ministry with the elderly poor. The Sisters depend on your
generosity to help them provide a safe and comfortable home for the elderly men and women
in the Queen of Peace Residence in Queens Village. There the residents are surrounded with
love, respect, peace and security until their death. The Sisters will be at the doors of the
church as you leave Mass to receive your donations. Please be as generous as your means

BAPTISM PROGRAM
When preparing for the Baptism of your child, parents must attend a Pre-Baptism Class.
Godparents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The class is held once a month usually on
the third Monday night of the month at 7:30pm. The Baptismal Liturgy is usually celebrated
on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 3pm. No Baptism can take place until the
church receives a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate as required by the diocese. If you are
planning a Baptism, please note the following dates:

PILGRIMAGE TO THE SHRINE OF
SAINT FRANCES XAVIER CABRINI
Saturday, November 14, 2015
On Saturday, November 14, 2015, we will be going on pilgrimage to the Shrine of St.
Frances Xavier Cabrini in Manhattan and celebrating Mass at her tomb. We will leave from
Saint Luke Church at 8:45am and we will return by 2:30pm. The cost will be $20, and it will
be collected that day. The Mass will be in Italian, but with some parts in English as well.
Coffee will be provided, but if you wish you are asked to bring your own lunch. There will be
time to visit the shrine, pray at the tomb of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, and meet her
Sisters. To reserve your spot, call the Rectory or Claudia Morelli at 718-961-7751.
