Its aims are to promote the conservation of this wonderful landscape whilst enabling people to enjoy visiting the countryside in all sorts of ways. For more information visit: www.nationaltrust.org.uk Kingston A hugely rewarding coast and estuary walk with peerless views from some of the most dramatic cliffs in the area. It ends with a huge vista of South Devon, and the welcoming sight of Kingston village snuggled amongst the fields. This walk is particularly good for dogs as it passes a beach and pub where dogs are welcome. A walk that's relaxing and bracing. Beaches with a lovely lazy feel, refreshing open clifftops, the timelessly delightful village of Ringmore tucked away, and enough 'up-anddown' to get the circulation going. South Devon is characterised by its peaceful countryside, pretty villages, rolling hills, colourful hedge banks, green lanes, orchards and wooded valleys. It is an ancient countryside with generations of human activity etched into the grain of the landscape. Farmers continue to manage the countryside as they have done for thousands of years. The AONB supports an outstanding diversity of habitats, wildlife and landform features ranging from salt marshes, mud flats and estuaries to hedges, oak woodlands and coastal grasslands; and from sea arches, crags and cliffs to dunes, shingle and reedbeds.
