CAULFIELD
OUTCAST
Sydney metalcore/hardcore band CAULFIELD are back with a new line-up and their new sophomore album ‘Outcast’.
The new album follows on from their 2010 debut EP ‘Clarity in a Sea of Confusion’ and their debut album ‘Vanity’ in 2013.
Along with their intensely energetic live performances, CAULFIELD’s unique, hardhitting melodic style of metal on both
releases have gained them a very loyal and ever-growing following. ‘Outcast’ features the 2014 single ‘Smoke And Mirrors’
along with their brutal new track, ‘Hell Inside My Head’.
Off the back of their EP and debut album, CAULFIELD have toured with the likes of Parkway Drive, Silverstein (CAN), Texas
in July (US), Demon Hunter (US), Vanna (US), Attila (US), First Blood (US), Confession, Buried In Verona, Northlane, Hands Like
Houses, Iwrestledabearonce (US), Misery Signals (US), Heights (UK), Emarosa (US), House Vs Hurricane, Dream On Dreamer, I
Killed The Prom Queen, Awaken I Am and many more.
CAULFIELD will be hitting the road in July with labelmates Belle Haven for a national tour, and have been handpicked to
play the prestigious BIGSOUND LIVE 2015 festival, as part of the highly regarded BIGSOUND conference in Brisbane this
September.

FOREIGN TONGUES
FRAGILE, AS SAID BEFORE
Critically heralded New England indie-rock band FOREIGN TONGUES has announced they will release a new album
titled ‘Fragile, As Said Before’.
FOREIGN TONGUES’ latest record was produced by Defeater guitarist Jay Maas (Polar Bear Club, Title Fight) and
recorded at Getaway Recordings in Boston. The record features 11 hazy, indie jams that recall alt-rock heroes Dinosaur
Jr., post-punks Echo and The Bunnymen and contemporary indie favorites The National.
“We have never released anything in our musical discography aside from EPs, singles and splits, and although it is
seemingly cliché to say that our newest material is “different” than our prior work we feel very confident in effort we
have put into getting the songs to where they are now,” says Moretti. “We approached the writing process at a newer
angle than our past material and couldn’t be more ecstatic to share these songs with the world. Musically and lyrically
it is the most personal collaborations we have come up with since our band’s existence and only hope others can feel
that way.”

FATBOY SLIM
YOU’VE COME A LONG WAY, BABY
 NEW RELEASE DATE 
07.08.15
FATBOY SLIM
YOU’VE COME A LONG WAY, BABY
FATBOY SLIM’s debut album, ‘Better Living Through Chemistry’, was one of the surprises of the big beat revolution
of 1996 - an eclectic blowout, all tracked to thunderous loops and masterminded by Norman Cook, a former member
of the British pop band the Housemartins. It might not have been as startlingly fresh as the Chemical Brothers, but
the hard-hitting beats and catchiness, not to mention consistency, of ‘Better Living...’ was a shock, and it raised
expectations for FATBOY SLIM’s second album, ‘You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby’.
And that record itself was something of a surprise, since it not only exceeded the expectations set by the debut, but
came damn close to being the definitive big beat album, rivaling the Chemicals’ second record, ‘Dig Your Own Hole’.
The difference is, Cook is a record geek with extensive knowledge and eclectic tastes. His juxtapositions (the album
swings from hip-hop to reggae to jangle pop, and then all combines into one sound) are wildly original, even if the
music itself doesn’t break through the confines of big beat.
Then again, when a record is this forceful and catchy, it doesn’t need to break new stylistic ground - the pleasure is in
hearing a master work. And there’s no question that FATBOY SLIM is a master of sorts. ‘You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby’
is a seamless record, filled with great imagination, unexpected twists and turns, huge hooks, and great beats. It’s the
kind of record that gives big beat a good name.

LOOMING
NAILBITER
Formed in 2013 in Springfield, LOOMING’s members Jessica Knight (bass/vocals), Brandon Carnes (drums/vocals),
Jordan Fein (guitar/vocals) and Mitch Baker (guitar) came together over a shared common vision and passion for
songwriting. After years performing in various local bands (Mother Leopard, Lovecow, Our Lady, Big Storm) the group
fell into a natural groove with one another and became known for their unique emo-pop that’s led by the inimitable
vocal stylings of Knight that pair perfectly with the band’s bright, airy sound.
Sonically, ‘Nailbiter’ keeps listeners on their toes with complex, yet inviting songs that weave in and out of indie-rock
sub-genres for a truly eclectic experience.
“Our goal with this album has been to make something that is dynamic and exciting the whole way through,” drummer
Brandon Carnes adds. “Musically, we draw from a lot of different pools of influence and I think you can hear it when
you listen to ‘Nailbiter’ front to back. Lyrically, the songs are super personal. We wanted this album to be an honest
reflection of the real-life situations that inspired all the songs.”

her own which makes Looming stand out against other similar bands.” Brooklyn Vegan.

BIG SMOKE
LATELY
Melbourne’s BIG SMOKE create a sound that dances its way through the history of rock ‘n’ roll. With pop, country and
soul sensibilities supporting personal, hard-fought-and-won lyrics, the band journeys towards its true north, the classic
song.
Performing with great passion and command, the band is fast becoming known as a group of serious players with
serious songs, drawing comparisons to The Band and Big Star or the modern class of Alabama Shakes and The War On
Drugs. The past year has seen BIG SMOKE go from strength to strength. The band has featured as one to watch on The
Age Online’s ‘Stage’ series, toured regularly along the East Coast and released the single ‘Try A Little Love’ following
a signing to First Love/Shock Records. The single was well received, airing on Triple J, Double J and Rage and was
embraced by community radio nationwide, coming in at #7 on the national AMRAP charts. All this culminated in a sold
out launch at Melbourne’s iconic Old Bar, and an international support for the Kitty, Daisy & Lewis Australian tour.
“Totally enchanting” – Dom Alessio (Triple J)
“Pop and folk are often used to convey positive sentiment, but BIG SMOKE do it with such earnestness that you can’t
help but buy into it completely.” – James Frostick (Who The Hell)
