WYCC PBS Chicago brings the popular Fourth Doctor back to television to take viewers through both time and space. D octor Who began in 1963 and has developed a passionate fandom over the last 50 years. The popular science fiction series is now onto its Twelfth Doctor, but longtime viewers fondly remember the Fourth Doctor, played by actor Tom Baker. Baker portrayed the Time Lord for seven seasons, from 1974-1981, the longest run for one Doctor in the show’s history. Fans new and old can get to know the Fourth Doctor in all seven seasons of Doctor Who: Tom Baker Movies, airing Saturdays at 10 p.m. Each incarnation has its own personality, and Baker’s incarnation is known for his bohemian spirit and wide-eyed wonder. He’s warm and witty, but still possesses the alien unpredictability that can be found in all incarnations. Join the Fourth Doctor and his companion Sarah on their adventures throughout the universe, transported by their trusty TARDIS, saving humans and aliens alike from a variety of monsters and disasters. 4 EPISODES AIRING THIS MONTH: The Android Invasion Saturday, June 4 at 10 p.m. The TARDIS arrives back on Earth, but all is not as it seems. The Doctor and Sarah are attacked by mysterious figures and Sarah is taken prisoner. The alien Kraals threaten to take over Earth and destroy all life on the planet. The Doctor and Sarah try to warn people on Earth about the invasion, but nobody believes them. The Brain of Morbius Saturday, June 11 at 10 p.m. The Doctor and Sarah travel to the planet Karn, where Dr. Solon is secretly hiding the living brain of the criminal Morbius. The Doctor is taken prisoner and Sarah tries to rescue him, but she is blinded in the process. Morbius asks for his brain to be installed in a new, terrifying body. The Seeds of Doom Saturday, June 18 at 10 p.m. A millionaire botanist plans to use alien seed pods to change humans into Krynoids. While Sarah battles against the living plants at the millionaire’s estate, the Doctor searches for help. The existing Krynoid prepares to germinate and send its deadly seed pods across the land. The Masque of Mandragora Saturday, June 25 at 10 p.m. When the Doctor and Sarah arrive in Renaissance Italy, they don’t know that they have brought a deadly alien energy force with them. Sarah is unwittingly used as a weapon against the Doctor.
