Ways to finance your Legacy Gift
Phyllis and Leonard Attman
Bequest
Charitable Gift Annuities
The easiest way to make a legacy gift is through a bequest
which costs nothing during your lifetime. Bequests can be
for any amount and included as part of your original will or
added later through a simple amendment called a codicil.
You irrevocably transfer cash or securities to Beth Tfiloh,
and in return, Beth Tfiloh agrees to pay you a fixed amount
of money for your lifetime based on your age. The payments
can also be for the joint lifetimes of two donors.
Beneficiary of Non-Roth IRA or Other
Retirement Plan Account
You may name Beth Tfiloh as a beneficiary of a non-Roth
IRA or other qualified retirement plan account. Because
Beth Tfiloh is a tax exempt organization, it will receive the
funds free of income tax, unlike an individual beneficiary.
Gift of Life Insurance
You can make a gift of life insurance by designating Beth
Tfiloh as the owner and beneficiary of an existing or new
policy. You would pay the annual premium to Beth Tfiloh
and receive an income tax deduction for the amount of the
premium. When the policy matures the proceeds are paid to
Beth Tfiloh.

education, in particular,
have always been an
important part of our lives.
Jewish education
expands the mind
like no secular education
ever could and therefore we
believe that scholarships for a day school education will
make a tremendous impact on the future of the general
and Jewish communities. We have established the Phyllis
and Leonard Attman Scholarship Fund to ensure that there
are funds available, in perpetuity, to provide a Jewish Day
School education to as many children as possible.

hy create a Legacy at Beth Tfiloh? For the past
90 years, Beth Tfiloh has served as an extended
family and a religious and spiritual home for so many. Our
dynamic clergy have made a lasting impact on members
of all ages, backgrounds and levels of observance. Our
vibrant synagogue and school includes varied options for
Jewish involvement, from our Camps, Hebrew School and
PreSchool, to our nationally recognized Day School, Youth
Center, and Mercaz Dahan Adult Center for Jewish Learning.
Beth Tfiloh is known for its inspiring Shabbat and holiday
services, outstanding speakers, and enriching youth and
family programs. Our members and alumni assume many
leadership roles in our community and throughout the
Jewish world. This is the legacy of Beth Tfiloh, and it is only
by growing our endowments through legacy gifts that we
can ensure the continuation of all this and more, for the
benefit of future generations.
