Cleanpass is a new nationally recognised training program for support staff developed around Irish hygiene standards. The program results in a FETAC Level 3 Component Certificate in “Cleaning Skills” The Cleanpass concept is designed to mirror the hugely successful Safe Pass concept in the construction industry. All aspects of the Cleanpass training program have been developed to mirror the Hygiene Standards set out by HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority). Knowledge Module Title Know why we clean This module provides you with an introduction into the theory behind cleaning, the importance and dangers of dust, different types of soil and why it is important to maintain a clean environment. Know what you are dealing with Benefits to your Healthcare Facility and Support Staff • • • • • This knowledge module provides you with background knowledge of infection prevention and control aspects of their job. It provides practical training on hand hygiene and colour coding as well as the hygiene issues associated with pest infestations. You will see a marked improvement in the skills of your support staff. Skills gained from CleanpassTM will result in a decrease in cleaning related cross contamination -this may lead to reduction in the spread of Health care Associated Infections (HCAI’s). You will see an increase in the productivity and work effectiveness of your support staff. You will have online access to all your training records. The transparency of the CleanpassTM ID card system will improve patient confidence and the public image of your healthcare facility. Know how to stay safe This module provides you with practical knowledge on health and safety aspects of your job. This includes training in security in the workplace and on the correct use of PPE. Course Objective To enable all support staff working within Ireland’s healthcare facilities to achieve and maintain Hygiene Services Assessment Scheme standards that have been set by HIQA. Know how to be prepared This module provides you with knowledge of the standards that you are expected to adhere to, and you will learn how these standards are assessed. You will learn what determines risk categories, what cleaning frequencies depend on and what a schedule is. This course is designed for individuals working in hygiene in the healthcare industry who require a recognised skills qualification. What are the entry requirements? In Recognition of Prior learning we will carry out a Training Needs Analysis on each participant this process refers to the recognition of knowledge, skills and competence an individual learner has already acquired e.g. Practical cleaning skills, manual handling and health & safety and Chemical Safety, on certified courses. What is the course duration? The course takes place over one day depending on participants prior acquired skills. Where does the course take place? Our training takes place on site in our bespoke training units KnowhallsTM for your convenience. KnowhallsTM are our mobile training units complete with classroom and simulated hospital room.
