Third Sunday of Easter
While they were still
speaking about this,
he stood in their
midst and said to
them,
“Peace be with you.”
But they were
startled and terrified
and thought that
they were seeing a
ghost. Then he said
to them, “Why are
you troubled?
And why do
questions arise in
your hearts?
Look at my hands
and my feet, that it is
I myself. Touch me
and see, because a
ghost does not have
flesh and bones
as you can see I
have.” And as he
said this, he showed
them his hands and
his feet.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
In preparation for the World Meeting of
Families taking place in September, our parish
is inviting families to pray through the
intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the
renewal of vibrant faith in all families. Our
Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the
Americas and her care for all families is filled
with blessing.
Each week, beginning April 26th through
September 26, 2015, we ask a family to pray
the Rosary daily in the presence of the statue of
Our Lady of Guadalupe at home. The statue,
which our parish will provide, can be picked up
at the Vigil or any Sunday Mass in the Sacristy.
It is to be returned BEFORE the next Saturday
Vigil. (If the Sacristy is locked, it may be
placed in the Religious Goods store on the
counter.) In this way, an unbroken chain of
prayer from family to family can be established
to help fulfill the purpose of the World Meeting
of Families.
Our Intention will be to pray with Mary to God
for the Holy Father Pope Francis, for the
protection of families, for marriage, for the
sanctity of all human life and for religious
freedom. This devotion, besides preparing for
the graces that come with a Papal visit, has the
hopeful intention of a profound strengthening of
gracious love in all families.
A sign-up sheet is available in the Narthex
(vestibule)
of the church.
For further
information, you may contact Silvana Byrne at
610-399-4315 or at email silbyrne@msn.com.

WORLD MEETING
OF FAMILIES
Are you planning on going
to the Papal Mass?
We are trying to determine if we should attempt to
book a bus to attend the Papal Mass. While speaking to
the Transportation Coordinator from the World
Meeting of Families, he wanted us to be fully aware of
the challenges of attending an international event of
these proportions.
• We will have to leave early Sunday morning for a
3:00 PM Mass.
• He said to be prepared to walk and stand most of
the day.
• The buses will only be allowed to park and drop off
approximately 5 miles from where the Mass
will be celebrated. People then will take subways
in.
• Only clear bags will be allowed in the area where
Mass is being celebrated.
The Transportation Coordinator suggested that the
trains are the best form of transportation into the city
that day.
With all that being said, if you are interested in taking a
bus from St. Maximilian Kolbe Church please fill out
the form below or call the rectory with your name,
phone number and number
of family members
attending.
If enough people are interested we will attempt to book
a bus for that day. Cost per person will be determined
once a bus is booked.

MANNA CANNED FOOD COLLECTION MAY 2ND AND 3RD
Every month, generous parishioners at St. Max sponsor a food drive for local charities, helping to stock the
emergency food cupboards in our area. May’s drive will be in conjunction with the yearly Manna Canned
Food Collection of the Archdiocese. Food will still go to our local charity, at St. Agnes Day Room.
Many struggling families and individuals turn to the emergency food cupboards for support during times of
crisis. Their lives are blessed by the generosity of the faithful of our parish. Items in greatest need are beef
stew, tuna fish, fruit, vegetables, pasta, soups and baked beans.
Manna bags will be available after all Masses next weekend and may be returned the weekend of May 3 & 4
and will be taken to the St. Agnes Day Room. We thank you for your generosity.
Jesus, many times throughout Your life
You fed hungry people and You called others to help.
You called the young child with the loaves and fishes
to share his gifts. You call each one of us today.
Open our eyes to see the needs of others.
Open our hearts to hear Your call to share.
Open our hearts to welcome all
people to the table of love. Amen.

THANK YOU FOR
YOUR GENEROSITY!
What does it mean to be God’s people? It means
we recognize that everything we have and
everything we are belongs to God. We aren’t
“owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards”
of the gifts God has given us. It means we are
willing to use our gifts and our lives to care for
our neighbors and the world, just as God cares
for us.
