I moved to Nashville from St. Louis in 2004. I had a difficult time finding a job in the information technology field so I decided to seek employment through a temp agency until I could find a job that best fit my skills and expertise. Two days after applying with the agency, I was placed as an office manager/ receptionist with a company that was relocating to Nashville from Portland, Oregon. Within three months with LP Building Products, I was offered a position as an executive administrative assistant. One of the responsibilities of my new position was to plan internal and external meetings on behalf of the company. Six months later I was promoted to a position in the corporate marketing department that allowed me to focus on event planning full time.
