National Night out, August 4
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that
promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood
camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer places to live. Together,
we are making that happen.
Residents can watch as their
confidential documents are
shredded via a monitor on the
truck. Properly disposing of
confidential documents and
ensuring that all paper is
recycled is important. Each year,
people dispose of confidential
documents in the trash without
considering the dangers of
identity theft. There are about 9
million victims of identity theft
each year, therefore Valcore
recycling and the City of Vallejo
want to provide residents and
businesses with an opportunity
to shred all of their confidential
documents and recycle the
paper in the process
The mission of VALCORE
Recycling is to promote
recycling, composting and reuse
opportunities in our community.
For more information regarding
the Paper Shredding
Event, click here.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and
law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community,
providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together
under positive circumstances.
Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals,
cookouts and other various community events with safety
demonstrations, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, August 4. Police, Fire
and other City Personnel will be visiting block parties from 6:30 to
9:00 p.m.
City of Vallejo neighborhoods are encouraged to register as soon
as possible by
contacting Tina
Encarnacion via email or phone at (707)
651-7184. The first 30
Neighborhoods will

Correction: In the last issue of Vallejo News, we incorrectly stated that Vallejo water customers have cut back
27% over the last 2 years. However, customers cut back their use in the month of June 2015 by 27% in
comparison to June 2013. The total annual conservation to date is 15.3%, nearly achieving the annual State
Water Board goal of 16% of total demand compared to the base year 2013 demand. For additional information
visit vallejowater.org. We will continue to share updates both here in Vallejo News and within the City
Manager's Bi-Weekly Report.
