Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted!
Drop the Top at Crocker Park
Summer is coming, and the time is right for dropping the top at Crocker Park. What better way to do that
than in a 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 Cabriolet!
They are available to rave reviews at Mercedes-Benz
of North Olmsted!
“It’s a beautifully made, solid cruiser that has space
for four, drives well, is quick, and has style,” reports Car
& Driver Magazine in its overview at the model’s launch
last month at the Detroit Auto Show. “It’s built like a bank
vault and is a serene cruiser that will make a statement at
a valet stand or the shopping mall.”
“Like the coupe on which it’s based, the Cabriolet is
a step up from its predecessor and comes packing a choice
of powerplants: a 3.5-liter V6 putting out 268 horsepower
Patio Party!
and 258 pound-feet of torque in E350 guise or a 5.5liter V8 churning out 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque
in the E550 cab,” says AutoBlog.
Mercedes calls the model its “latest addition
to the successful Mercedes-Benz E-Class line-up.
The open-top two-door model, which goes on sale
in May 2010, features a classic fabric soft top, making for a stylistically pure cabriolet feeling. Viewed
from the side, the new model is an intriguing proposition – with its clear proportions and a flawless
cabriolet silhouette.
“In keeping with the motto “four seasons, four
personalities”, all-year-round suitability was right at
the top of the developers’ list of priorities.” With the
new E-Class Cabriolet, the cabriolet season lasts the whole year because, while
many cabriolets tend to disappear from
the roads in the Fall, the Mercedes-Benz
E-Class Cabriolet (length/width/height: 185.0/
70.3/55.2in.) provides driving pleasure and
comfort whether the roof is open or closed.”
“The real party piece on the convertible E-Class is the new AirCap system,
which includes a 2.4-inch wind deflector
that extends from the windshield, along with
a draft-stop mounted behind the rear seats,”
continues AutoBlog. According to
Mercedes, this limits the amount of wind
intrusion into the passenger compartment up
to speeds of 100 mph, keeping your perfectly coifed hair in check and making conversations easier when storming the
autobahn. Or Crocker Park!
Sprinter Comes to North Olmsted!
Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted is proud to announce
they are Northeast Ohio’s Exclusive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
dealer! Endless Commercial and personalized possibilities
exist with 100 years of van experience that comes alive with
Sprinter. If you are more used to a Mercedes-Benz that speaks
sports car or luxury sedan, be advised that the Mercedes
Sprinter is very popular in Europe where, according to U.S.
News & World Report, “its efficient engines and tall design
make it a favorite for deliveries in tight urban spaces.”
Visit the North Olmsted Auto Collection soon! It is
Cleveland’s Automotive capital, headquarters for
Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted, Porsche of North
Olmsted, North Olmsted Saab, Lotus, Fisker, AMG, North
Olmsted Performance and, now offering Sprinter.
CROCKER PARK
YOUR CLEVELAND CONNECTION....
Renee Garver, Anna Kucirek and Sandy

beverages as they shopped amazing sale prices on
Danny Vegh’s great patio furniture. One of Crocker
Park’s newest additions, Danny Vegh’s has been
Cleveland’s choice for billiards and home
entertainment since 1963!

a.m. to 2 p.m. (participants may begin their walk any time up to 1:30).
Please join Cleveland Sight Center for its 5th Annual White Cane Walk! This unique

Westlake Students Shine at Rae-Ann Art Show
Continuing a three-year tradition, residents
and staff of Rae-Ann Suburban Skilled Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center hosted “Bridging Across
Generations, A Youth Art Show,” bringing
Westlake Public School students and Rae-Ann
Suburban residents together through their artwork.
The three-day show held last week featured a
Meet the Artist Reception on Tuesday evening,
where top Best of Show honors were awarded to
Westlake High School (WHS) senior Luke Graber
for his pastel drawing entitled “Self Portrait”. Best
of Show Honorable Mention went to WHS Junior, Janey Eager, for her acrylic painting,
“Serengeti Sunrise”. Professional artists Wm. V.
(Bill) Mannion, Kathy Heidelberg and Marge
Widmar served as judges.
Rae-Ann Suburban residents also voted for
their favorite student submissions. Resident
Choice Best of Show went to WHS Ninth Grader
Wan Kwok for a pencil self portrait, with the Resident
Choice Best of Show Honorable Mention going to WHS
Eleventh Grader Breanna Rhodes for her acrylic painting “Florida Sunset”. Likewise, students chose their
favorite works from those entered by Rae-Ann Suburban residents. John Bugosh’s picture “Butterflies” won
first place and watercolor “Night Sky” by Robert Reese
captured second.
Always looking for ways to connect with the community, Rae-Ann Suburban owner John Griffiths and
his wife Mary held the first show in 2008. “We are so
pleased that it has become such a success and an event
that residents and staff look forward to all year long,”
said Griffiths. “But, it would not be possible without
the contributions of the teachers, student artists and
residents.”
First place winners from each grade level were:
Kindergarten: Milo Sloan. 1st Grade: Emma Jaros.
2nd Grade: Gregory Langermeier. 3rd Grade: Niall
Elbert. 4th Grade: Andy Wahl. (5th Grade: no entries).
6th Grade: Emily Feldner. 7th Grade: Megan
Rochford. 8th Grade: Allyson Pesta. 9th Grade:
Roberto French. 10th Grade: Harrison Keppler. 11th
Grade: Janey Eager. 12th Grade: Luke Graber.

is one of six Rae-Ann senior health care facilities that
are privately owned and locally operated by the second generation of the Griffiths family.

Spirit of Philanthropy
Community West Foundation provides unique vehicles for addressing the
charitable needs of our community while allowing donors greater flexibility in
fulfilling their philanthropic goals. The response to our Invest West® Program has
been outstanding. Generous benefactors are demonstrating a deep commitment to
the community by investing funds with Community West Foundation.
The Jennifer Fund
When Aggie and Tom Hoskin’s
daughter, Jennifer Hoskin Grosel,
passed away from breast cancer in
2007, they were determined to turn
their grief into something positive.
They decided to organize a golf outing as an opportunity to celebrate her
life and honor her memory.
Family and friends turned out in force
to participate in the outing, and their
support and kindness were a testament
to the wonderful person Jennifer was
and her impact on others. The successful event raised over $14,000 and the
Hoskins decided to make the golf outing an annual event and to establish a
permanent fund – The Jennifer Fund –
at Community West Foundation. Jennifer, with her husband Doug, lived her
life with passion and grace – loving
all children starting with her own three
sons – Evan, Tommy and Luke. It is
fitting that the fund will honor
Jennifer’s legacy and support the
Jennifer Hoskin Grosel
causes she held so dear, including
children’s programs at the West Side Catholic Center, The Cleveland Foodbank’s “Backpack for Kids” program, and the Children’s enrichment programs at St. Coleman’s.
Community support isn’t new to the Hoskins family; they have been very active community leaders, and Aggie is the much loved former West Side Catholic Center Director. “A Donor Advised Fund at Community West Foundation serves our needs
perfectly,” said Aggie. “Having the Foundation’s helping hand in managing our Fund
is great because they take care of the accounting, tax filing, grant making, and other
duties.” The Hoskins can stay actively involved in suggesting how donations are
used while eliminating the cost and administrative burden of a private foundation.
Thank you to Aggie and Tom for sharing with the community the very spirit of
philanthropy. We can’t think of a better way to pay tribute to Jennifer, who valued
her family, friendships and community. We believe she would be thrilled.
“Our Colleagues at Community West Foundation
made it especially easy – availing all resources to
the Hoskin family, which allowed the formation of
a fund that meets their particular needs and now
will celebrate a very special life in perpetuity.”
Susan Ertle, Director of Advancement,
West Side Catholic Center

Lee Elmore, Executive Director,
North Coast Health Ministry
Community Champion
Milan “Mike” Busta has been helping his community for decades – generous with
both his time and money. “I give to community organizations that do good work,”
said Mr. Busta. “I care for this community and it’s great to be able to support charities that touch the lives of so many in a positive way.”
He recently learned firsthand about the good work of North Coast Health Ministry
through his physician, Dr. Henry Anton, who is part of the agency’s physician volunteer network. Several members on the North Coast Health Ministry Board share
their unique perspective on the work and needs of the ministry with Mr. Busta. The
more Mr. Busta learned about North Coast, the more impressed he became with
their commitment to care for those less fortunate, and he decided to make a gift in
the form of a Charitable Gift Annuity.
Because North Coast Health Ministry doesn’t have a planned giving officer on
their staff, they turned to Community West Foundation for assistance. “I made a gift of executing a
Charitable Gift Annuity with Community West Foundation,” said Mr.
Busta. “It was easy to work with
the people at Community West, and
I know that things will be done
well. and my gift will be managed
with expertise.”
A Charitable Gift Annuity made a
lot of sense to Milan, who outlined
the advantages. “In addition to benefiting North Coast Health Ministry, the annuity will provide a secure
stream of income at a set rate of return, which will continue for the rest
of my life. After I pass away, the
money will go to North Coast
Health Ministry so they can continue helping people. It is truly a
win-win for everyone.”
Milan “Mike” Busta
A spirited individual, Mr. Busta served on the boards of many charities and he
loves his role as a volunteer and donor. In addition to creating the Charitable Gift
Annuity at Community West Foundation, he has established a noteworthy thirteen
additional annuities to help local nonprofits. It’s clear that Mr. Busta’s love for and
commitment to the community make him a true Community Champion!

plus Wine and non-alcoholic beverages. What a great night! “Just one of every 7 people have access
to clean water... the statistics are frightening of what the future holds for this basic resource essential
for daily life,” reports HQ Manager
Becky Damiano of the fundraiser. “We
raised $2086 for the Sierra Club towards our goal of $2500,” reports
Heather Smith, Store Manager. “We
are continuing to raise additional
money after the event, so we are on
track to reach our goal.”
A big volleyball tournament last
weekend at Whiskey Island in Cleveland added to the fundraising fun, as
sponsored by the Crocker Park HQ
Salon and Spa. Kelly Branzel put together the Westlake event, while
Lynn Allen and Dana Stilwell put together the Lorain event.
