The Montreal Ronald McDonald House invites you to
participate in our Share-a-Meal project, a way to help
parents of sick children who are going through difficult
times. Some parents experience periods of exhaustion
while they’re staying at the House because of the
seriousness and/or the length of their child’s illness.
They spend long hours with them in intensive care,
waiting for a transplant, through chemotherapy
treatments and more. They don’t always have the energy
to take care of themselves and sometimes their financial
resources are slim. A nice hot meal can mean a lot to
them.

The idea came from a great
inspiration. In 2006, M. Allen and his
wife Josiane stayed in the House for
the birth of their daughter. During a
conversation about a new House,
Mrs Jacqueline Mallet talked about
the idea of having in the new
building, a large stained-glass
window representing a family. A
phone call was enough to introduce
M. Jean Beaulieu an artist from Trois
-Rivières who is involved in helping
young homeless people through art.
The artist is leading an art studio-Go
Art that deals with the rehabilitation
of young people through very
creative projects!
Since, Jean Beaulieu and a group of
Page 7
young people animate a drawing
workshop with sick children who
reside at the House. Later the
drawings are transformed to stained
glass designs. The result is bright!
On May 17th, 2011, took place an
opening at the House to present
their work.
As experience is very beautiful, then
it is renewed every year. On
November 07 th, 2011, M. Jean
Beaulieu and another group were
invited to the House
to make
drawings with the children. We wait
to see the stained glass designs of
2012!
