OCTOBER 2006 Music City Mustang Club, Inc. Wes Duenkel, Newsletter Editor 702 Crief Drive Goodlettsville, TN 37072 SKID MARKS NEXT CLUB MEETING Message from the President My year of leading the Music City Mustang Club is almost over. In my years as a member I have taken part in a number of activities to keep the club moving forward. There are many ways to enjoy a classic Mustang and I have to say The Music City Mustang Club certainly tries to encourage and allow all of them. On the horizon is an unknown. Will the Ford Motor Company allow Mustang clubs across the country to keep "Mustang" in the name? Businesses that cater to our hobby have already been contacted and Thursday, October 19, 7:00pm Club meetings are held at the Piccadilly Cafeteria (615-367-4640), 874 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, on the third Thursday of the month (except December). asked to remove "Mustang" from their business name. It has been mentioned that Mustang clubs will be contacted at some point in the future. I can only guess that the Ford Motor Company sees a restored vintage Mustang as a new Mustang not sold. The Music City Mustang Club will be joining the SVTOA group for a fall color cruise on the Natchez Trace October 28th. The cruise will leave from the Shell station at the beginning of the Trace at 9:30am and will have lunch at Columbia. With wet weather and fallen leaves on the road I'm leaving skid marks without even trying! Happy Mustangin' —Tracy The Newsletter of the Music City Mustang Club The Legend is published monthly by the Music City Mustang Club, Inc. (MCMC), Nashville, Tennessee. MCMC was organized in 1980 by, and for, the owners and lovers of Ford Mustang automobiles. All Mustang owners and enthusiasts are welcome to join. MCMC is a sanctioned regional group of the MUSTANG CLUB OF AMERICA. Boss 429 at MCMC All-Ford Show Wes Duenkel Photo INSIDE YOU’LL FIND... When winter comes— And the cold wind blows, Where are my blankets— I‟ll be he knows. They‟re wrapped around the fenders And the grille, All snug and warm— And they‟ll stay there „till… The body is ready— And the engine purrs, If ever— Or even that occurs. We‟ll finish this car— One way or the other Then we‟ll get busy— And look for another. Some people make fun— Of our fixed-up old cars, But to me it‟s better— Than golf, fishing, or bars. So ladies don‟t gripe— And complain a lot, When hubbie comes home— And says, “Come and see what I‟ve got!” Just jump right in— With your wrench in your hand Forget all the housework— And enjoy cars with your man.
