Resurrection offers worship, ministries and a community that will inspire, challenge
and encourage you as together we seek to know, love and serve God. We are one
church in four locations, and we invite you to participate at any of our campuses:
Blue Springs, Downtown, West (Olathe) or Leawood.

We gather each weekend as a community to worship God and listen for his word to us in song,
scripture and sermon. We offer a variety of music and worship styles:

The United Methodist Church of the
•Pryor Legacy Project: Urban Christian Academy Serve Day – Saturday, April 30, 10 am – 4 pm
at UCA, 4328 Jackson Ave, Kansas City, MO. Resurrection Leawood and Downtown are teaming up to
help renovate the playground and a classroom and to add a reading room. Contact Caroline Wells at
wellsc@william.jewell.edu to volunteer.
•Serve this spring with FaithWork at Avenue of Life where we’ll play and read with young children,
Saturday, May 7, at 8:45 am. Just a few hours can make a big impact. cor.org/faithwork
•Did you know... someone who is food insecure may have a meal to eat today, but may not have
enough for everyone in the household tomorrow? Food insecurity exists in every county in the
Kansas City metro area. You can help fight hunger in our city year-round by making a monthly

•Serve Partner Schools – As the school year winds down, school activities ramp up! Give a few
hours of your time this spring or summer. Sign up to make a difference in the lives of Kansas City kids.

•Remember school parties? We’re helping to throw one for students at Quindaro Elementary, one
of our partner schools, to celebrate achieving their testing goals and reaching One Million Pages of
Reading as a school! Two-hour volunteer shifts available May 16-17 for ages 16+. cor.org/education

Serve in Africa and Make a Global Impact
Step out of your comfort zone and embark on a life changing
journey. Additional team members are needed to join our October
2016 and January 2017 serve teams to Malawi. Experience the
warm heart of Africa while serving alongside our brothers and
sisters helping address needs in the community such as orphan
empowerment, health education and clean water. For details, visit

Navigate the Second Half of Life
Crossroads, our ministry for persons age 50+, provides serve
opportunities, fellowship activities and events, classes and seminars
and more to help you create a life of significance and joy. Here are two
upcoming activities:
• Boomer Kentucky Derby Party – Saturday, May 7, 4-6:30 pm,
StoneCrest Farms, 14300 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO. Boomers are
invited to view the 142nd Run for the Roses, enjoy appetizers and
refreshments and meet new friends – plus see Perfect Drift, the
racehorse that placed third in the 2002 Kentucky Derby. Registration
is required at cor.org/crossroads (click on Social Events in the menu).
$15 donation requested at the door.
• Introduction to Halftime Study – Tuesday Grow Night, May 3,
6:30-8:30 pm, B207. This 6-week study helps you plan your second
half of life as you explore defining success, overcoming obstacles,
preparing for the journey, gaining direction, creating margin and
