I Principal Janice Espiritu gave lei of thanks to May Day program chair Cindy Brito, and coordinators Valerie Dudoit-Enos, Teri Neuhart and Kupuna Kauila Reyes. Lei were presented by student Abemaurice Dudoit. Michael Kikukawa, Tyra Lopez and Edwin Mendija ably shared narration and announcing duties for the program of songs and dances by the students from preschool through sixth grade. King Kiley Kekoa Johnston and Queen Sharali Anelalani Dudoit-Enos were ushered in by the Royal Court representing the islands with traditional color outfits, designed this year by Val Dudoit-Enos. As in years past, students, teachers and families put forth their best for this cultural event. t Kualapu‘u School, the May Day Program on April 29th was truly A Hawaiian with the theme, “Huli I Ka Maoli” or “To Turn Back or Search for the True Hawaiian.” King Jacoby-Jaymes Purdy-Kaai and Queen Kaira Kaulia-Makaiwi and their court were attentive throughout stellar performances by each grade including a stirring “Kawika” by Kumu Poepoe and Santiago’s students in pap ‘ekahi, ‘elua, ‘ekolu and ‘eha and grade 4 students’ “E Ku‘e/ Kaulana Na Pua.” report by George Peabody for MAN Resistance to Tyrants is Obedience to God"-Thomas Jefferson "In a recent conversation with an official at the Internal Revenue Service, I was amazed when he told me that, "If the taxpayers of this country discover that the IRS operates on 90% bluff, the entire system will collapse." -- Sen. Henry Bellmon, 1969. IRS FRAUD: “Internal Revenue Service, April 4, 1985, Department of Treasury To All District Directors On March 5, 1985, a charge of tax evasion was filed in U.S. DISTRICT Court in Indianapolis, Ind. by U.S. Atty. Geo. Duncan. The charges were dismissed! The defense atty., Lowell Becraft of Huntsville Alabama presented irrefutable evidence that the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was never properly ratified. This amendment which established the “income tax”, was signed into law despite serious defects. In reality only two States ratified the amendment and ratification required 36 States to be valid. The effect of this is such that every tax paid into the Treasury since 1913, is due ad refundable to every citizen and business. The official position of the service is, as it has always been to old aid and assist the citizens of the United States. We will not publish or advertise this finding as a total immediate refund would cause a serious drain on the resources of the Treasury. For those citizens who become aware of this finding and apply for a total refund, expedite their refund documents as quickly and as quietly as possible. A simple 1040X form will suffice until a new form is designed and printed. Advise each of your managers that they are not o discuss this situation with anyone. There will be no written communications and you are to destroy this memorandum. The Secretary of Treasury assures me that there will be no reduction in the workforce as this refunding activity will take a minimum of 5 years to complete. Further directions will be forwarded as the need arises. (signed) Roscoe L. Egger, Jr. Commissioner of Internal Revenue” Ok, we know we are being defrauded by the IRS! The message of resistance that is being sent by We The Sovereign People to the federal and state governments – the People will not tolerate a tax system that violates the fundamental Rights of the People nor a government that refuses to answer in good faith the People’s Petitions for Redress of those Grievances. Show us the law, or we stop paying taxes, immediately. The Internal Revenue Code is a massive fiscal fraud upon the American People. The IRS has created an elaborate system which causes millions of people to whom the tax laws do not otherwise apply to inadvertently declare themselves to be among the persons to whom those laws do apply. Which One Are You? Find Out by reading this book: “Cracking the Code” The Internal Revenue Code consists of 3,413,780 or so words (not counting regulations) . The laws behind the code and the taxes that they impose technically comply with the Constitution, just as all the judges have said over the years. But the same analysis also reveals that, as written, these laws do NOT apply to most of the income of most private citizens. Readers of Cracking the Code will learn that specific Constitutional limitations on the federal government’s power to tax do shape related law, and have generated a coherent Supreme Court doctrine which clearly and soundly answers the question of what is taxable "income”. Both the statutes and the doctrine acknowledge the exemption of the vast majority of private-sector income/wages from that IRS taxing power’s reach. However, you will also learn about a complex combination of craft, routine bureaucratic incoherence, and casual-- and not-so-casual-- corruption by virtue of which many people are led to inadvertently allow the legal transformation of their untaxable earnings into taxable "income”. Such people are tricked into voluntarily “paying taxes”. Thanks to the elaborate and deceptive tax scheme rooted in today’s Internal Revenue Code, it capitalizes on widespread public ignorance of general legal doctrine and rules of statutory construction, and it relies upon the concealment of the underlying actual-law-in-force behind the misleading words of the code. Fundamental to the scheme is designing that code to be so profoundly confusing as to force the vast majority of those against whom it’s directed to abandon even a pretense of personal comprehension. These targets are thus compelled to surrender their decision-making to the IRS bureaucracy or a tax professional both of whom will assure you that of course your income is taxed under the law, but somehow, they never manage to demonstrate exactly where the IRS law say it is so. ‘Cracking the Code’ is going to unravel the tangle of deceit and confusion, and make clear that not only is it not in there anywhere, what is in there is just the opposite. Military Interrogation by Torture Approved Abu Ghraib Abuse and Torture Interrogation Techniques were approved by Lieutenant General Sanchez, including intimidation by Dogs, Stress Positions, Sensory Deprivation, according to a memo dated Sept. 14, 2003, and signed by Lieutenant General Ricardo A. Sanchez authorizing 29 interrogation techniques, including 12 which far exceeded limits established by the Army's own Field Manual. The American Civil Liberties Union an investigation into possible perjury by Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, because this evidence flatly contradicts sworn testimony given by Sanchez to the Senate Armed Services Committee, in which he denied authorizing highly coercive interrogation methods. The memorandum at issue was initially withheld from public release by the Defense Department under “national security grounds”. However, the ACLU obtained a physical copy of the memorandum, under an ongoing Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, according to Christopher E. Anders, an ACLU Legislative Counsel. Page 2 ..... We learned about soldiers being killed and wounded by 'the enemy', and how people died if they got shot or if a bomb landed on them. Sometimes innocent people got killed during a war, but the fact that most victims were civilians was carefully hidden from us by our elders. They knew that children are smart enough to understand that there is a big moral difference between killing other soldiers and killing ordinary people. That a significant number of deaths were caused not by a weapon's impact, but by its toxicity and by military pollution, was never mentioned. We did not learn that military toxins know no boundaries, that they don't just kill the enemy, they kill our military personnel and people living near military bases, that they pollute the water, land and air. We were not taught and still aren't told today that military toxins go anywhere and kill everything, that they are in fact the [ cont’d page 7 ] The M.A.N. ..... Bush, the pharmaceutical industry is using TeenScreen as a vehicle to push dangerous drugs on children who in the eyes of many experts are already being overmedicated. Despite that the fact that SSRI antidepressants are banned for use with children in the UK and despite the FDA "black box" warning label now required on all SSRIs that the drugs increase suicidal thinking and behavior in kids, the NFC not only recommends that the same drugs be prescribed to children, it promotes the very schemes that will increase the number of kids on these drugs in schools and other public institutions. According to a report by the Florida Statewide Advocacy Council, posted on Ken Kramer's website, an investigation in Florida found that of 1,180 kids in foster care, 652 were on one or more psychotropic drugs. In Texas, Dr John Breeding, an Austin psychologist, has seen cases where some foster children were placed on as many as 17 drugs and says drugs are being used as chemical restraints in Texas. He wants all SSRIs and neuroleptic drugs banned from use on children "The SSRIs are extremely harmful and addictive; and can cause or exacerbate suicidal or homicidal tendencies; withdrawal is painful and dangerous." Dr Ann Blake Tracy is the Director of the International Coalition for Drug Awareness, holds a doctorate in biological psychology, and is a specialist in the adverse reactions to SSRI medications. Tracy claims the whole hypothesis of SSRIs is "backwards." She says the drugs increase serotonin while decreasing the metabolism of serotonin, especially in the 7 to 10% of the population that studies have shown don't have the proper enzyme to metabolize SSRIs in the first plac. Dr Tracy can recite hundreds of horror stories involving violence by people taking the same drugs that TeenScreen is marketing to more children. She told the Morning News about, "the professor on Prozac who bit her mother to death; the Stanford graduate on Paxil who stabbed herself in the kitchen while her parents slept; the mother who bludgeoned her son and then drank a can of Drano; and the 12-year-old girl who strangled herself with a bungee cord she attached to a plant hanger on the wall." "Most of these drugs are not approved for children, but it doesn't stop doctors from prescribing them," Tracy points out. Instead of pushing drugs in their Teen Screen federal program, the feds should realize that teens will respond positively to freedom and truth. James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution for the United States, made it clear :"We have staked the whole future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments." We are each Sovereign; government is the servant. Government shall not push drugs or promote drug use in any federal program for Teens or anyone else. On Wednesday, April 20, the Molokai Lions Club performed a vision screening of the entire student body at Maunaloa Elementary School. This is the second school to request a vision screening for all their students. Lion Lucy Davis, school health aide and Kahana Pele DeKneef, Parent Community Network Center coordinator obtained permission forms and set up the area used for testing. The children came in orderly, friendly and extremely responsive to the Lions. What a joy to report that all tested very well with no apparent sight problems. 54 out of 57 students were tested. A school permission slip is necessary. Special thanks to Lion Lucy and Kahana for their assistance, to principlal Joe Yamamoto, and to the team of Lions; Ron Bauman, Ed and Shirley Fulkerson, Joe Pentax and Bill and Jackie Cushman. We invite the 2 remaining elementary schools to contact Lion Jackie Cushman (553-5006) to request this service. Poor eye sight can be fixed! No child should have to spend a day at school unable to see properly.... think of the consequences! Mahalo to all the Lions who turned out for the Uncle Mutt Run/Field day. Fifty agencies and businesses participated, offering information about services for the Seniors in our community. Some agencies sent representatives from Oahu and Maui, including Social Security, MEO, Hale Mahaolu, the Red Cross, Foster Grandparents, and others came from the plethora of services right here on island. There was health screening by the friendly Molokai Community Health Center staff , blood pressure monitoring by Molokai General Hospital along with a sample and recipe for diabetic muffins. MGH physical therapist Mary Anne Hill offered free information about diabetic foot care and displayed some exercise tools. The Lions Club brought eye sight screening and a fresh orange at their vision screening booth. Linda Kauhane from the Molokai Occupational Center, Claud Sutcliffe from Mediation Center, Sgt. Keith Kawano from the police department, Kanani’s Cooking, Patience Gaia from the County Solid Waste Management and Bo Mahoe from the US Post Office offered information for all ages. To remind us of victims of abuse, Hale Ho‘omalu (the women’s shelter) and Molokai Alternatives to Violence gave away seeds for Forget-MeNot flowers. Freebies (brochures, personalized information, pens, pencils, magnets, fans, fly swatters, healthy snacks) along with the displays and helpful staff was informative. If you took brochures and information, there was lots to read and digest to plan for medicare prescription benefits, health care, fifty booths, a variety of information, too much to list, but the Filipino plate lunch was generous and ono looking -- if you didn’t already have lunch planned from the Kaunoa Senior Services/RSVP with Renee Yasso. EARTH DAY contd’ Military Pollution from page 4.....quintessential universal soldier. The U.S. Department of Defense is the largest polluter in the world, producing more hazardous waste than the five largest U.S. chemical companies combined. (1) The types of hazardous wastes used by the military include pesticides and defoliants like Agent Orange. It includes solvents, petroleum, perchlorate (a component of rocket fuel) lead and mercury. And most ominously, depleted uranium. The health problems that have been documented as being attributable to these various toxins in military use include miscarriages, low birth weight, birth defects, kidney disease and cancer. It is the military's use of Depleted Uranium that should cause the most alarm. Not only is the evidence of irreparable harm becoming undeniable, it is also quite clear that the U.S. government has been aware of the lethality of these weapons for quite some time. Despite denials of health risks, a 1950 Army pamphlet states, "Although there is negligible danger from uranium and plutonium outside the body, it is possible for dangerous amounts of these elements to enter the body through the lungs, the digestive system, or breaks in the skin." An FAA Advisory Circular written in 1984 stated, "if particles are inhaled or ingested, they can be chemically toxic and cause a significant and long-lasting irradiation of internal tissue." In 1990, U.S. Army Armaments, Munitions and Chemical Command (AMCCOM) reported that depleted uranium is a "low level alpha radiation emitter, which is linked to cancer when exposures are internal." AMCCOM's radiological task group also pointed out that the "long term effects of low doses of DU have been implicated in cancerâ?œthere is no dose so low that the probability of effect is zero." The risk to our own military personnel was spelled out in a 1993 letter from the U.S. Army Surgeon General stating that, "When soldiers inhale or ingest DU dust, they incur a potential increase in cancer risk." And in 1995, a U.S. Army U.S. Army Environmental Policy Institute report to Congress says that depleted uranium has the potential to generate "significant medical consequences". The impact of depleted uranium on Gulf War veterans is so staggering that it is incomprehensible that the U.S. government persists in denying the damage done. The numbers tell the obvious story. During the three-week war in 1990-91, 467 U.S. personnel were reported injured. Since then, more than 11,000 Gulf War veterans have died and more than 600,000 are on permanent disability due to their exposure to depleted uranium, or what we euphemistically call Gulf War Syndrome. But U.S. military personnel are of course not the only victims of depleted uranium. Many returning soldiers brought it home to their families as well. Wives and girlfriends have been contaminated through sperm, causing a variety of gynecological problems, including cancer and the need for hysterectomies. Children born to Gulf Veterans have a much higher than normal incidence of birth defects, cancer and other diseases. With Debra, Auntie Hannah, and Lillian, Kau‘i shows she knows many more than one hula, accompanied by the Ke Ola Pono No Na Kupuna musicians. The many services offered by Care Resources, Na Pu‘uwai and Hospice Hawai‘i was available from Tessie Matayoshi, Jo Manaba, Donna Carvalho, and Alice Kono. The Fitness Center, Diabetes Education, and regular Cardiac Risk clinics as well as behavioral health services are offered by the Native Hawaiian health program. M olokai A dvertiser N ews 2 2 We get your attention ! We get your attention ! 558-8253 558-8253 M olokai A dvertiser N ews And of course, the same problems that have plagued our own citizens have also taken place in the countries where depleted uranium has been used, including the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. In Basra, Iraq, cancer rates have leapt from 11/100,000 in 1988 to 123/100,000 in 2002. Cancer in children under the age of fifteen has tripled at the Basra Maternity and Children's hospital since 1990. Children under five years of age now make up 56% of the reported cancer cases, in 1990, they were 13% of the total. There were several cases of babies born with multiple congenital birth defects in 1990. In the last three years there have been more than 200 such cases. This scenario is being played out wherever depleted uranium has been used. As human rights attorney Karen Parker explains, the use of depleted uranium is illegal in four ways: It fails the territorial test because it can't be contained on the battlefield. The impact of depleted uranium continues to be felt after the battle is over. It is illegal because it causes inhumane death and injury. Depleted uranium irreparably damages the environment. For all these reasons, the use of depleted uranium is in violation of the Geneva Convention and constitutes a war crime. Why then are we still persisting in our use of toxic weaponry in the face of such overwhelming danger to our environment and health? There is no justification for our military killing us to protect us. Our continued ignorance and silence will become our collective epitaph. Now we find out the attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq were unnecessary: CIA's final report says No WMD found in Iraq "In his final word, the CIA's top weapons inspector in Iraq said Monday that the hunt for weapons of mass destruction has 'gone as far as feasible' and has found nothing, closing an investigation into the purported programs of Saddam Hussein that were used to justify the 2003 invasion. 'After more than 18 months, the WMD investigation and debriefing of the WMD-related detainees has been exhausted,' wrote Charles Duelfer, head of the Iraq Survey Group, in an addendum to the final report he issued last fall." (04/25/05) [Editor’s notes: "Silence can only be equated with fraud when there is a legal or moral duty to speak, or when an inquiry left unanswered would be intentionally misleading... We cannot condone this shocking conduct... If this is the case we hope our message is clear. This sort of decption will not be tolerated and if this is routine it should be corrected immediately" —U.S. v. (Decl. of Indep.) Free and Independent with Guns for every Soverign Citizen See page 12 of the December, 2004 issue of National Geographic. There is a large area between Afghanistan and Pakistan where the right to keep and bear arms is a reality. Here, a fiercely independent people have successfully survived without being adopted, subjugated, or tamed by any foreign nation-state, Afghanistan, Pakistan or anyone else, including the former USSR. The average household in this area has a watch tower and a solid fence around the home, plus, a heavy anti-aircraft gun in the watchtower, plus a 50 caliber machine gun, and enough AK-47's or other full automatic military style rifles for each family member to use for defense, plus ample ammunition. The residents, or inhabitants of this area are fiercely independent, self-sufficient, athletic, and lean/mean fighting machines. No one wants to "mess with them". Those who have messed with them have regretted it. They remain independent and free! Unlike the modern USA: 1) These Middle Eastern village people exercise the 2nd Amendment even when it is not in their law books, because the core idea of self defense lives in their heart and in their psyche and they know the true value of arms under their control; and 2) There is more than a correlation, there is a direct cause and effect, between the degree of independence one retains and the type of firepower one retains, coupled with the skill and willingness to use that firepower to retain one's independence. While we spend billions guarding Iraq's border, we suffer an invasion of twenty million illegal aliens from the Mexican border and it grows by three million annually. This is a Third World invasion without an end to the line, and the Minute Men with arms have stepped up to assist the US Border Patrol with positive results. But Pres. Bush and Condi Rice refuse to stop the alien invasion, and call the Minute Men vigilantes. Bush and Rice need to learn what the Constitution means: It means the rule of law is to be enforced by those who swear on the Bible to uphold its concepts. It doesn't mean working against citizens who make up the legal population of this society. It doesn't mean ignoring 20 million people illegally operating in the USA. It doesn't mean encouraging more terror by leaving the borders stark raving open. When Americans see a line of 50 state flags stabbed into the soil garnished with hundreds of the Stars and Stripes, they will once again stand for their country. It's worth fighting for. It's our country. It's our future. It's our children. Rice and Bush don't know what's going on at the border. They are aloof, insulated, isolated and totally clueless. The Minute Man Project is the American Revolution. Those who don’t care to protect our borders from foreign invasion, and those who don’t care to defend our Constitution from our terrorist government, deserve no freedom. "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsel or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams F RThree E Eis aDCrowd: OM! Why You Shouldn’t Get a Marriage License A marriage license involves three entities: Husband, wife and STATE. It is mere state recognition of your marriage and circumstantially brings you into statutory marriage laws of the state. In essence you marry the state. And this becomes crystal clear when you divorce, because the State shows itself to be an interested Party that gets to decide how to divide up your property, and take some for itself, and of course the Officers of the Court, i.e., lawyers, judges et al, collect large fees. Black’s Law dictionary defines marriage license, and you can trace it back to a license to INTERMARRY BETWEEN THE RACES. This should trigger something in your mind: In order to prevent inter-racial-marrying, the government tried to pass laws saying someone should have a marriage license. Once the government got in the marriage business, they won’t withdraw too much money. However the common law still exists and people can simply marry without the state: Its called a common-law marriage. LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL WHO SEEK MARRIAGE LICENSES FROM BIG BROTHER- if you don’t want to marry the State, that is. No founding father of our Nation sheepishly walked into a government office and asked for such permission to marry! And no Soverign American needs to do that today. Simply record your marriage in your bible. You ask: “Well is the marriage legal?” Good grief, Charlie Brown! Just what part of unalienable rights don’t you understand? Does the government have the right to dictate to whom you can love for the rest of your life?” Please people, CLAIM YOUR RIGHT, DON’T ASK GOVERNMENT FOR IT. Worldwide, the human race divides politically into two factions: those who want people to be controlled, and those who have no such desire. The urge to “save humanity” is almost always a false front for the urge to rule. The people of the Republic retained all right and power not specifically granted to governments (see McCulloch vs Maryland 4 wheat 316 (402) or 17 US 316 (1819)) and the Bill of Rights, most specifically the ninth and tenth amendments). JUDICIAL CONFLICT AND CORRUPTIONS The only place a person can go for redress of grievance of wrongs done to him by unconstitutional laws or the unconstitutional enforcement of same, is to a court where the judges have ruled themselves to be immune from unconstitutional rulings. Do we all see the problem, now? Crimes of Politicians Must Be Stopped by The People (You are The Militia) The crime on our streets is a tiny fraction of the crime in the offices of our politicians and bureaucrats - the massive majority of crime is committeed by the criminal classes in power. Just look at the constant abuse of power in our State government offices and you will realize the extent of crime in Government. Just consider just how many BILLIONS of dollars a day Government extorts from the people and how little WE get in return; and just how comfortable the politicians make themselves at the expense of the peoples they extort! The goal of the founders of America was to restrict government within severe limits and to protect the rights of soverign individuals. Government has NO rights! Judges are impeachable. Furthermore, judges may be removed immediately for violating oaths of office, involvement in conspiracies, extortion, and failing to uphold their duty to the common law. Judges can also be arrested, they are not exempt from this nor are any other officials, including the President of the United States. Do the people have the power to do this? Yes, the people have the power to do everything to defend our country against all enemies foreign or domestic politician, and government has no power to say otherwise. Fascist bureaucrats might send out its armed marauders, but a huge group of The People (Militia) armed with guns as guaranteed their Right to keep and bear arms by the 2nd Amendment is likely to stop them unless the governments decide that it is time to begin mass killings of all people who believe in the rights of Man. Wake up ! Enforce the Bill of Rights ! “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Exercise the 2nd Amendment. Kaumakaiwa turns 13 original new songs into the most interesting album to come out of Hawai‘i this year. His first album, “Ha‘i Kupuna” was awarded the 2003 Na Hoku for composer of the year. He blends music and chant with extraordinary new interpretations that include the sounds of a cello, snare drum and harmonica blended with the ancient musical implements of Hawai‘i. He is joined by special guests Robert Cazimero, Kekuhi Kanahele and Napua Greig. Kaumakaiwa is the eldest son of Kekuhi Kanahele, grandson of Pualani Kanaka‘ole and great grandson of Edith Kanahele Kana‘ole, well-known Kumu Hula. He says, “ As each generation passes it becomes more and more challenging for the next to not only meet that standard but seek to raise the bar of native intelligence and push the envelope. So, my music is a testament to this endeavor, not to meet any expectations people might have, but rather embrace my birthright and rise to the standards these generations before me and generation before them have set--seek not to change the face of Hawaiian music, but rather to add to the potential of its growth and natural progression.” Few musicians are ever able to transfer a studio performance to a live performance with the same energy. In this case, Kaumakaiwa’s dynamic force that brings audiences to their feet was captured in the studio with his musicians and channeled into this beautifully mixed CD. If you want to hear what the future of Hawaiian music holds, this CD will point you in the right direction. For a preview of “Welo” visit www.mountainapplecompany.com.
