Landstown High School History Landstown High School opened in the year 2001, making it the first Virginia Beach high school built in the 21st Century. Since then, the school has housed the Technology Academy. Landstown’s first principal was John Erossard. Located on 2001 Concert Dr., their school mascot is the Eagles and their colors are Royal Blue, Silver, and Black. The mission of Landstown High School, in partnership with family and community, is to provide a balanced and diverse educational experience, through the integration of academics, electives, and technology to allow students to discover and develop their full potential for performance and success. LHS is recognized by Washington Post as one of the top 8% of the Nations High Schools. It was the 11th high school to be named as a Governor’s S.T.E.M. Academy in the state of Virginia. Landstown is an AVID National Demonstration Site, one of only 2 high schools on the entire East coast. Landstown became fully accredited in its first year of operation through the Standards of Learning testing program.
