synopsis
synopsis
Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are responsible for some
of the most famous film score collaborations of our time
including Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas,
Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and Alice in
Wonderland. Elfman’s striking music is performed by the
full might of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, a
soaring choir and Elfman himself, alongside excerpts,
sketches and storyboards of Burton’s strange and
beautiful gothic worlds. One night only!
The Who’s iconic 1969 rock opera Tommy launched the
band to international stardom and inspired reinterpretations in film, opera, a stage musical and more.
Now, in the 50th anniversary year of The Who, and with
Pete Townshend’s blessing, the staggeringly successful
double album is re-interpreted in a radical new way. This
re-working of the classic features an eclectic cast of
rock and roll raconteurs in the starring roles, including
Gavin Friday
