Abhijit Pawar is the Managing Director of Sakal Media Group, Printer & Publisher of
Sakal Newspapers, Agrowon, Gomantak ,and also Printer and Publisher of the
English daily from the House of Sakal, Sakal Times. A B. E. graduate, with
specialization in Mechanical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering,
Sangli. As Managing Director, Sakal Media Group, he has been constantly focusing
on re-engineering the way each task is executed and today the group’s entire focus is

Abhijit is qualified in engineering and has been responsible for various turnkey

Besides this, what comes out of the Sakal stable is the General Entertainment Marathi
channel, Saam TV. Saam, the associated television venture between Neo TV Ltd
and the Sakal Group, has unveiled the logo and positioning for its Marathi channel,
Saam Marathi. Saam Marathi is a Marathi general entertainment channel (GEC)
launched on 15th August 2008.
He is also an Executive Committee Member of Mahratta Chamber of Commerce,
Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) for 2012-2014 and also sits on the International
Board of the global YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization). He is an executive
committee member of the Indian Newspaper Society, Delhi. Besides this, he also sits
on the committee of NM Wadia Institute and Media Research & Users Council,
Mumbai. He has also captained state hockey team for Maharashtra during 1988 –

Arun Maira is a Member of the Planning Commission chaired by the Prime Minister of
India. In this ministerial level position, he is responsible for facilitating the shaping of
policies and programs relating to industrialisation and urbanisation in the country, and
tourism. He has a combination of hands-on leadership experience, consulting
experience to leadership teams internationally and thought-leadership as an author
and speaker on the subjects of leadership and organisation transformation.
He is a frequent speaker at international forums on the future of India. He writes
regularly in the Economic Times in India and other management and business
journals. He is the author of several books which include "Shaping The Future:
Aspirational Leadership in India and Beyond", “Remaking India: One Country, One
Destiny”, “Discordant Democrats: Five Steps to Consensus” and “Transforming
Capitalism: Business Leadership to Improve the World for Everyone” in 2008.
He is the Chairman of Quality Council of India and Chancellor of Central University of
Himachal Pradesh. He was a member of the Tata Administrative Services and worked
in several senior positions in the TATA Group in India and abroad for 25 years until
1989. He has advised clients across a wide variety of industries and in many countries
on issues of strategy and organisation. He has worked with clients in North America,
Europe, South America and Asia in industries ranging from automobiles, steel, and oil,
to pharmaceuticals, and financial services. He has also advised Governments and
international agencies on leadership processes to accelerate development.
Arun Maira has served on the boards of several large Indian companies, including
companies in the Tata, Birla, Godrej, Hero and Mahindra Groups. He has been a
Member of The Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) National Council for many
years, as well as Chairman of several of CII's National Councils, including the
National Council for Corporate Governance and Chairman of CII's Leadership
Summit. He was a Senior Advisor to the UN Global Compact in New York. He was also
Chairman of Save the Children, India, and Chairman of the Axis Bank Foundation. He
received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from St Stephen's College, Delhi University.

Baijayant “Jay” Panda was elected to the Lower House of Parliament (Lok Sabha)
from Kendrapara Constituency, Odisha in May 2009. Earlier, Panda had been twice
elected to Parliament, Upper House (Rajya Sabha) in 2000 and 2006, also from the
State of Odisha. He is a member of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) party. Panda represents
the new face of Indian politicians, several of whom have been educated abroad and
have had alternate careers before choosing to serve the nation through politics. He
graduated from the Michigan Technological University and, with a background in
Engineering and Management, worked in the corporate sector before joining politics.
He assisted the late Biju Patnaik and subsequently Naveen Patnaik, who founded the
Biju Janata Dal party, which has found strong acceptance from the people of Odisha
and has been repeatedly voted back in elections.
Panda had helped to form the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) and was its
Convener; he has also been associated with the India-USA Forum of
Parliamentarians and is its Chairman. He was awarded the “Bharat Asmita National
Award” for best parliamentary practices by the Hon'ble Chief Justice of India in 2008.
Since its inception in 2007, Panda has been associated with the Citizens' Alliance
Against Malnutrition, an advocacy group including many parliamentarians across
parties, Bollywood actors, other celebrities, civil society activists and non
governmental organizations.
In his earlier corporate career, Panda was active in industry organizations like the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the International Chromium Development
Association. In the past he has also been associated with the Govt. of Odisha's
Industrial Advisory Committee and been a Director on the Industrial Promotion &
Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL).
As a parliamentarian, he has been a member of many important committees like the
Parliamentary Committees on Energy, Urban Development and Finance. In
parliament and public life, Panda passionately espouses the cause of his home state
Odisha as well as other national issues close to his heart, such as economic
development, education and information technology.

Chandrajit Banerjee is the Director General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
He has been with the CII for over 25 years and has been the Director General, CII
since May 2008. As Director General, he is responsible for overall operations of CII.
Prior to his appointment as Director General, he held several senior positions in CII.
He has been responsible for important areas of work including the Sectoral Verticals Manufacturing, Services, Agriculture and Life Sciences Sectors and the SMEs and
has led key policy work of CII in the areas of Economic Policy, Financial Services and
Corporate Governance (he was also the First Executive Director of the National
Foundation of Corporate Governance - NFCG, an organization set up by the Ministry
of Company Affairs, Government of India). He continues to be in the Board of Trustees
of NFCG as a Founder Trustee.
Earlier, he has served as Head of CII's regional operations in the Northern, Southern
and Western Regions. He was also in Bangalore to initiate the Centre of Excellence of
the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA), which is a state-of-theart centre for training, conventions and trade fairs.
He is in various advisory committees of the Government of India; the Vice Chairman of
the Asia Pacific Chapter of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry; the
Co-chairman of the Governing Council, Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC), a
not for profit public private initiative of Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) and
CII, established in 2007; Member of the World Economic Forum' s Global Agenda
Council on India and a Member of the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of
Management (IIM), Ranchi.
He has been honored with the China-India Friendship Award by the Chinese Premier
Wen Jiabao for his contributions towards the development of bilateral ties between
India and China. With 63 offices including 10 Centres of Excellence in India, and 7
overseas offices in Australia, China, France, Singapore, South Africa, UK, and USA,
as well as institutional partnerships with 224 counterpart organisations in 90
countries, CII serves as a reference point for Indian industry and the international

S Gopalakrishnan (Kris), along with N R Narayana Murthy and five others founded
Infosys in 1981. He served as the Director (Technical) and his initial responsibilities
included the management of design, development, implementation and support of
information systems for clients in the consumer products industry in the US.
Between 1987 and 1994, he served as the Vice President for Technical Operations of
KSA/Infosys, a joint venture between Infosys and KSA located in Atlanta, US. In 1994,
he returned to India and was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Infosys.
Before becoming the CEO and Managing Director in July 2007, he served as the
company's Chief Operating Officer, President and Joint Managing Director
responsible for customer services, technology, investments and acquisitions. He took
over as the Executive Co-Chairman on August 21, 2011.
Recognized as a global business and technology thought leader, he was recently
voted the top CEO (IT Services category) in Institutional Investor's inaugural ranking
of Asia's Top Executives. He was also selected to Thinkers 50, an elite list of global
business thinkers compiled by Des Dearlove and Stuart Crainer, in association with
the IE Business School, Madrid and the London Business School's Management
Innovation Lab in 2009.
In January 2011, the Government of India awarded Kris the Padma Bhushan, the
country's third highest civilian honor. He has also represented Infosys and the country
at various international forums. In April 2012, Kris was appointed as a member of the
reconstituted United Nations Global Compact Board for three years. He is also a
member of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) International
Advisory Board and Fudan University School of Management International Advisory
Board.
He is on the Board of Governors at the IIM, Bangalore; Chairman of Indian Institute of
Information Technology and Management (IIITM), Kerala and International Institute
of Information Technology (IIIT) Bangalore and a member of ACM, IEEE and IEEE
Computer Society. Kris holds master's degrees in Physics and Computer Science

K Vaman Kamath is the Chairman of ICICI Bank, India's largest private sector bank
and Infosys Ltd, one of India's largest technology services companies. He is also on
the board of Schlumberger Ltd, Chairs the Credit and Risk Committees at ICICI bank
amongst others and Chairs the Finance Committee at Schlumberger apart from being
on its Audit Committee. As part of public service, he is the Chairman of the Society and
Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management Indore and a member of the
board of Governors of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.
After graduating from IIMA in 1971, he started his career with ICICI in the Project
Finance division and gained extensive experience within the company, including
setting up new businesses such as leasing, venture capital, credit rating as well as
handling general management positions. As part of his general management
responsibilities, he initiated and implemented ICICI's technology program.
In 1988, Kamath joined the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, within their
Private Sector Department. He returned to India in May 1996, to take over as
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICICI. The strategic initiatives and
structural changes subsequently instituted by him across the ICICI Group have
helped ICICI to redraw its boundaries.
He retired as Managing Director & CEO in April 2009 and assumed his present
position as Non-Executive Chairman.
He was conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian honors in 2008.
He has received widespread recognition internationally and in India, including being
named CNBC's Asian Business Leader of the Year in 2001, Businessman of the Year
by Forbes Asia and Business Leader of the Year by The Economic Times, India in
2007.
He was the President of the Confederation of Indian Industry for the year 2008-09.

Naushad Forbes is Director of Forbes Marshall, India's leading Steam Engineering
and Control Instrumentation firm. He is the CEO of the Steam Engineering

He has also been a Consulting Professor at Stanford University in the Program in
Science, Technology and Society from 1987 to 2004 and developed courses in

Raja Kochar is associated with Eaton Corporation - India, a global $11.9 billion
premier diversified industrial manufacturer. In his former role as Managing Director,

Kochar started his consulting career with General Foods in 1983 and gained 25+
years of experience with Fortune 1000 companies in a variety of industries including
Financial Services, Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Food Service, Retail,
Telecommunications and Utilities with extensive international experience including
assignments in North America, Latin America, Europe, Far East Asia and India.
Between 1978 and 1980, Javadekar worked in the Tribal area of Thane District for the
revival of a development project launched by the Bank of Maharashtra. From 19962000, he ensured the successful completion of the Government of India's watershed

Rajan Navani is the Managing Director of the Indian arm of the Jetline Group of
Companies with interests in Packaging Manufacturing, IT services and new ventures
in innovative entertainment, and organized consumer retail. Rajan is responsible for
the India strategy and its implementation for all the group companies. The roots of the
Navani group originate back to the 1930’s in Bangkok, Thailand where the group
continues to have its diversified business operations.
Prior to this, Rajan worked with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre in Maryland,
USA before returning to Thailand and then to India to enter the family business. Rajan
is currently the Chairman of the National Committee on India@75, the Past National
Chairman of the Young Indians, which is an integral part of Confederation of Indian
Industry and is a member of CII’s National Council. Through India@75, CII is looking
at effectively channelizing the vast youth energy of the country towards building a
Dream India by 2022, seventy five years since its independence. He is also a trustee
of the India@75 Foundation.
Rajan is a fellow of the Aspen India Leadership Initiative 2011 – 2012 and member of
the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He is also a BMW Foundation’s young world
leader and part of the ASEAN 100 Leadership Forum. He was the Founder Chairman
of the Emerging President’s Group, a forum for second generation industrialists and a
promoting member of the Family Business Forum. He is actively associated various
other business and social organizations in India and Thailand. He holds a Masters
degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA under
a NASA grant majoring in Digital Satellite Imaging and Remote Sensing graduating
with the award for outstanding academic achievement. A gold medalist at the
University of Poona, India in the Bachelors of Electronics and Telecommunications
program, Rajan also has a diploma in Business Management.

Rasika Wakalkar holds a BA (French) and has done her Masters in Marketing
Management from the Pune University, besides an Advanced Diploma in French
iterature.
With a work experience of about 11 years in different areas and capacities, Rasika is
currently the Managing Director at Renee Enterprises Pvt Ltd and founded Pune’s
first and largest multi-designer store, Rudraksh that has put Pune on the country’s
fashion map and has been the launch pad for over 130 Indian designers.
She is also a Trustee at The Vishweshwar Education Society that runs under
graduation & post graduation courses of the Mumbai University. In her previous role
as a Trustee with the Pune based Indira Group of Institutes, she was responsible for
founding 3 schools.
In her free time, Rasika loves to read, travel and cook.
She was recently awarded the “Star Youth Achiever Award in Fashion” at the 3rd
Global Youth Marketing Awards in Mumbai. She has been listed in “The Power Club
Women in Pune” by the Femina magazine and was also felicitated by the Royal
Western India Turf Club for her contribution to fashion.
The love for travel that she has, Rasika has been to the US, UK; France, Italy, Austria,
Spain, Portugal and a few other countries in Europe & Hong Kong, Singapore,

Rati Forbes graduated with Psychology and Sociology from Bombay university - and
has further done special courses in Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour.
She has been a Director at Forbes Marshall (FM); and has been involved in
overseeing the Human Resources function till 2010. During this time, Forbes Marshall
was thrice selected one of India's Top 25 Great Places to Work; most recently bagging
11th rank in 2011 and 5th rank in 2012.
Today, Rati focuses full time on the social initiatives the company has been developed
and grown over the last 30 years. Rati also heads the Foundation which Forbes
Marshall set up three years ago. She has initiated several programmes for underpriveleged women and children from neighboring communities; the focus areas being
health, education and women's empowerment.
The social initiatives team at Forbes Marshall is involved with several programs some of them are a reading/learning enhancement programme in a hundred
municipal schools in Pune; catalysing 200 self-help groups for women, a gender
sensitisation programme for 8th and 9th standard students which continues to run
each year in about 30 to 40 municiapl and low cost private schools. FM was also the
first company in India to be recognised by the Social audit network of UK and awarded
a certification after a rigorous process in 2010.
Rati chaired CII Western region's cell for Social development from 2002 to 2006; the
main objective being to sensitise corporates to their social responsibility. She
continues to be actively involved with CII's outreach programs for skill development,
leading to employability. Rati is also on the board of several foundations - some of
them are Mobile Creche Pune, the advisory board for Akanksha Pune, Centre for
Learning Resources, the Centre for the Advancement of Philanthropy, etc.
Rati is currently pursuing a part time two year Masters in Sustainability Leadership
from Cambridge UK; she will graduate in June 2013. She has two children - Riah who
works for Google in their corporate office in Mountain View and Darius who is a Junior
at Stanford university, California.

Revathi Roy graduated from St Xaviers Mumbai, is a post graduate from Mumbai
University and has a doctorate from University of Toronto. She is the pioneer of the
first ever women's taxi service in Asia called FORSHE which was subsequently sold,
and started another company called VIIRA. A completely novel profession was
created for the women below poverty line, who only had an aspiration to become
drivers. She has a dream of training 10000 women in 5 years and creating a
residential school.
She is a pioneer in the Women's Fleet Taxi Service which is a large platform for
providing employment to women from below poverty line families in this unique
profession. She Started Forsche pronounced as FORSHE by driving a taxi herself
and getting a first hand experience in real life. She started another brand called VIIRA
and has exited from that as well.
She is a recipient of many awards, the latest being the Godfrey Philips National
Bravery Award. Revathi has also won the Entrepreneur of the Year 2007-08 by
Bombay Management Association, the Indian Merchants Chambers, Inner wheel
Club of Mumbai Airport 2009, Parmanand Foundation Certificate of honour and the
Veerangana award.
Revathi was invited by Hillary Clinton to participate in the Summit conducted by the
Hillary Clinton Foundation last year. She was also recently awarded the Lions Gold
Award for 'Favourite Woman Social Entrepreneur' at a glittering award ceremony. An
episode of 30 minutes has been made on Revathi Roy, which was anchored by
Anurag Kashyap and aired on Samay Mumbai several times in the show entitled
'Rags to Riches'. She is a regular speaker at Forums and is invited by many Business
Schools, including ISB Hyderabad, Mckinsey, TCS etc to speak and guide students
on Entrepreneurship.
Revathi wants to change the way women travel and make roads safe. She is
associated with many NGOs and not for profit organizations in empowering women
and issues which have social impact, and has represented India in many events.

A thorough-bred Puneite, Ritu Nathani is a Dentist by qualification and an Elocution
Teacher by passion. Ritu had started her active participation in theatre and drama
during her school days. And eventually, her sabbatical from dentistry after the birth of
her second child drove her back to her childhood passion.
For over a decade, she has been a communication teacher running her own speech
and drama classes and training children for speech exams conducted by The Trinity
College of London. She has, in the past, taught in many schools like St Mary's and
Primrose, trained May Queen contestants at local clubs, hosted Times of India's
Spelling Bee contest for several years, compered many corporate events,
interviewed celebrities from different walks of life, and has played lead roles in various
professional plays such as Careful Rapture, Where There is a Will by Mahesh Datani,
Plaza Suites by Neil Simon.
Ritu is the wife of Arun Nathani, founder and CEO of Cybage, an emerging IT services
leader with global footprint supported by over 4200 professionals. Ritu heads
CYBAGE KHUSHBOO, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing which
provides financial aid to deserving needy students for professional college education.
Since its inception in 2009, Khushboo charitable trust has sponsored over 250
students for medicine, engineering and other professional courses, and also supports
rural schools around Pune. In recognition of her contribution, Ritu was honored as

Sam Pitroda is an internationally respected development thinker, policy maker,
telecom inventor and entrepreneur who has spent over four decades in Information
and Communications Technology and related human and national development
initiatives. Credited with having laid the foundation of India´s technology and
telecommunications revolution in the 1980s, he has been a leading campaigner to
help bridge the global digital divide.
During his tenure as Adviser to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the 1980s, Pitroda
headed six technology missions related to telecommunications, water, literacy,
immunization, dairy and oil seeds. He was also the Founder and first Chairman of
India´s Telecom Commission. In these roles, he helped revolutionize India´s
development policies and philosophies with a focus on access to technology as the
key to social change.
Pitroda was the Chairman of India´s National Knowledge Commission (2005- 2009),
an advisory body to the Prime Minister of India, set up to provide a blueprint for reform
of the knowledge related institutions and infrastructure in the country. The
Commission has offered a series of recommendations on various aspects of the
knowledge paradigm to help India meet the challenges of the 21st century.
He is currently Adviser to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information
Infrastructure and Innovations and has undertaken the ambitious task of providing a
plan for creating digital infrastructure in the country for enhancing governance and
improving delivery of public services. He is also the Chairman of the National
Innovation Council (NInC) which is working on several initiatives to boost innovation
performance in the country. He is also the Chairman of the Smart Grid Task Force set
up under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. He has also been
appointed as one of the founding Commissioners of the United Nations Broadband
Commission for Digital Development.
He holds close to a 100 worldwide patents and has published and lectured widely in
the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Born and brought up in a slum in Madipakkam in Chennai, Sarathbabu E is not
ignorant of difficulties and poverty in his life. Citing his mother to be the most
successful entrepreneur who brought up her kids working several jobs, he is a person
who we can take lessons from. He completed his matriculation form King's
Matriculation Higher Secondary school in Chennai and graduated in Chemical
Engineering from BITS Pilani.
Srikantan Suryanarayan on completing his Bachelor in Commerce from St. Alberts
College in Kochi, Kerala in 1993, proceeded to University of Canberra, Australia for
his Masters in Business Administration, specializing in International Business. In
2003, he became part of the Wharton Fellows Program, University of Pennsylvania,
USA. As part of the Fellows program, attended Master Classes in Los Angles,
Shanghai, Milan, Copenhagen and Mumbai.
He worked in Polaris Software for three years and pursued his MBA from the Indian
Institute of Management - Ahmedabad. It was post his MBA, that he started Food King
food catering service in 2006. His vision was to offer employment to illiterate and semiilliterate people through Food King. In 2010, he started the HungerFree India
foundation and his vision is to see a hunger free India in his lifetime. He declared 10th
of October (10-10) as HungerFree day across India.
Tradelinks is entering its 5th decade of operation in 2012-13, a family run business
organization that specializes in trading, distribution and marketing of products
catering to diverse industries like – Education, Audio-Visual, Photography, Printing,
Textiles etc. The brand portfolio includes most of the leading global and Indian
brands. Tradelinks Ventures, the flagship company of the group also runs a chain of
retail stores – both virtual and physical, under the brand Pixetra. A new initiative of the
group – Ishka Renewables in the coming years will be venturing in Agriculture and
Renewable Energy.
One of his biggest achievements is becoming an Honorary Rotarian. He has also won
the CNN-IBN Award for Young Indian Leader 2011, RITZ Chennai Youth Icon 2010
and many more youth awards. A real icon for the youth in India for success in the face
of hardships, he believes in putting values before money and power.
As Managing Director of the Tradelinks Group of Companies, a second-generation
entrepreneur, primary responsibility is to drive growth and explore new business
opportunity.

He joined Yi in Kochi during its early years in 2002-03. And has been passionate

Supriya Sule is a politician and a social initiative leader, and is currently a Member of
Parliament (MP) in the 15th Lok Sabha. She was also elected to the Rajya Sabha in
2006. Supriya is also a member of various Committees such as the one on
Empowerment of Women, External Affairs, and Ethics as also a member of the
Consultative Committee, Ministry of Rural Development. She was educated at Jai
Hind College in Mumbai, earning a B.Sc degree in Microbiology.
Supriya initiated a campaign in Maharashtra to have its first youth policy. Along with
demanding the State Government to declare its First Youth Policy, she conducted
state-wide consultations with youth from various sections like Navmaharashtra Yuva
Abhiyan, Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthaan etc. and presented a draft youth policy
to the State Government which was accepted as a basic document to formulate
official State Policy.
She also initiated a State-level campaign for public awareness against female
foeticide mainly through rallies where thousands of young girls had participated. This
campaign highlighted the issue in media and with policy makers.
Supriya is involved with educational activities in various capacities. She is engaged in
education of tribal children through many schools and is also a board member for the
schools of the Pawar Public Charitable Trust. She is also associated with Vision
programme for career guidance to school children and youth and initiated the
Yashswinini Abhiyan for upliftment of women below poverty line. It organises women
into SHGs, providing them training for entrepreneurship, value addition and
marketing.
She is also the convener of the first political wing for young girls in the country, the
Rashtrawadi Yuvati Congress (RYC); and she has travelled all over the State and has
had direct dialogue with more than 2.5 lakh girls. RYC provides a platform for these
girls to express their feelings and raise their issues.
Supriya has wide-ranging interests in the socio-cultural arena, especially in paintings,
literature and science.
