1 THE FOLLDAL MINES. The Folldal copper mines are
one of Norway’s ten most important cultural heritage monuments from the early industrial age. The mines have been made
into an active museum operated by the Folldal Mines Foundation. The museum also houses an exhibition and provides information on the local national parks.

SOHLBERGPLASSEN (FRONT PAGE). From
2
Sohlbergplassen, the view of the Rondane mountains appears
almost identical to its depiction in the famous painting «Winter
Night in the Mountains», created by Harald Sohlberg in 1914. This
location has received numerous awards for its unique architecture. Architect: Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk.
3 STRØMBU. Rest area with facilities for hikers, including a roof terrace, kiosk, service facilities and a long-term car
park. Strømbu is the main point of departure for hikers heading
into Rondane from the east. Bjørnhollia Tourist Lodge can be
reached in no more than a two-hour hike. This location is also a
point of departure for hikes to the western mountains of Alvdal
valley and to Breisjøseter Tourist Lodge. Architect: Carl-Viggo
Hølmebakk.
