This year, we will walk the stations together after the 8:30AM mass on Fridays. Mass on Ash Wednesday will be at 6PM. THERE WILL NOT BE MASS AT 11:30 due to Father’s commitment at Augustana. Father Anthony will be available for Reconciliation @5PM on Ash Wednesday. According to the Bishop’s Festival Letter: “Any Catholic in a state of serious sin is obligated to approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once between Ash Wednesday and Pentecost Sunday. All Catholics are especially urged to confess their sins during the penitential season of Lent, during Advent, before the great festivals, and regularly throughout the year.” The following is a list of the County Line Services this Lent and the speakers: You will notice a few changes in locations. Services begin @ 7PM, refreshments to follow: 2/16 @ Illinois City/Pine Bluff UMC/ Beth Nelson, 2/23 @ Buffalo Prairie PC/ Harry Losey, 3/1 @ Eliza Community/ Marc Shefelton, 3/8 @ Edgington Presbyterian/ Bob Keller, 3/15 @ Antioch Baptist/ Zach Hopkins Fast & Abstinence: If you are age 18-59, Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting. Only one full meal is allowed, two small meals permitted, but, combined can not equal a meal. Juices are permitted. (barring medical conditions of course) All Catholics over the age of 14 should abstain from meat this day and all Fridays during Lent. Same rules regarding fasting apply on Good Friday. Don’t Forget to Sign-up! DynamicCatholic.com/ BestLentEver. Beginning on Ash Wednesday you will receive daily emails with short videos from Matthew Kelly and a member of his team who share simple ways to bring Jesus into your every day life. This is absolutely free. You will encounter Jesus...and yourself...in a deeply personal way. The Word Among Us has sent us booklets for Lent that include daily meditations and readings. We will omit the daily readings from the bulletin during this time. FREE TO ALL WHO WANT ONE!! Dear Friends: A big thank you to DAN PARKER for doing a wonderful job in the downstairs kitchen. Go take a look and see the new ceiling and floor. Wonderful! Also, thank you for signing up for Flocknote. Almost 100 people signed up for weekly messages. As a reminder, this service will help us remember Holy Days of Obligation, special holiday Mass times, offer words of encouragement, and other communications. We will try to keep it to 1 or 2 messages a week. To sign up text 84576 with the message Catholic123. Remember you can stop the messages at any time. Blessings~ Fr. Anthony Mon. Kindly review the Honey Dew list, still much to accomplish. Also, we are looking for those with talents and abilities to assist with the bathroom project. Thank you! Please remember in your prayers Greg Simon and his family. Greg’s father passed away this week. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord. Don’t Forget: No CCD next week, February 14th.
